Do spider mites live in the roots and the res?

I have a bit of a bug problem. I hope and think that I have root aphids, but when I scoped some of them under my microscope they look like they have eigth legs! Do spider mites ever live in the roots and reservoir? Those are the only two places I see them so far. It's worrying the hell out of me, my precious babies are lookin so good too and they still have 4 weeks of flower to go. Any help would be awesome guys.

im guessing your asking this because you have already sprayed the grow room down really well once or twice?
I have been dousing the roots with sns 203, which recirculates back into the res. I also spray all over inside the res with Take Down and all over the grow medium and the hydro tray (Im growing in clay pellets). I've this for three days now. It tames them for that day but when I come back the next day their numbers are up again. Is it normal for spider mites to be in these areas? Still no sign of them in the canopy. Any suggestions on what to use to get ride of them for good?

I've had aphids before, they have never posed too much of a problem as long as you stay on top of them, and you don't have to spray your buds with any pesticide. I've never had spider mites before, but from what I hear once they take over your buds it's game over. And I'm not one to douse my buds with pesticide. So you don't think they are mites? Have you ever seen mites live in clay pellets and the res?

sounds like your spider mites have built a resistance to the pesticides you have been using.

i would switch to azamax if its late, or if its early enough in flower, a spray of Avid(look on ebay for single uses) will end you woes.

I fixed the problem, thanks guys for your responses. I ruled them out as not being mites, so I assume they were root aphids (they looked different than aphids I've had in the past), I only saw them in my growing medium and in the reservoir. I'm shocked that I havent seen a single one in over 5 days...knock on wood. I dosed the pots twice with SNS 203 (normal dose) and just let the run off recirculate back into the res. It is key to douse with a normal dose first rather than just dumping some into the res, then it becomes too dilute. I also added two Hot Shot bug vapor repellants, and since then I haven't seen a single one of those bastards. I'm pretty stoked just because I have never completely gotten ride of those f**kers in the past, and it really wasn't that hard to do.
