Just a simple question: Will super-cropping the main branch/top make all the lower branches into tops?
Negative. But pruning lower branches will make more tops up high.Just a simple question: Will super-cropping the main branch/top make all the lower branches into tops?
I agree, sort of. I stick to the basics. Prune low, build high, get high. Lst is the only technique I use and that's if I overgrow my area and am forced to do so. Techniques really aren't needed if you are good at what you doreally all depends on the strain. some take well to super cropping, while others don't. try pinching half way down the stem, starting from the top, and give it a few days to see how it responds, and that should give you your answer in regards to whatever strain your growing atm.
let us know how it turns out.
i feel you, it really all depends on the strain and how fast your trying to put something into rotation.I agree, sort of. I stick to the basics. Prune low, build high, get high. I find with the right pruning on the lower 1/3 of the plant, you basically top the upper 2/3 of the plant. When you chop something low, it regrows up high and usually splits off like a topped section would.i feel you, it really all depends on the strain and how fast your trying to put something into rotation.
i supercrop here and there in the beginning stages, then lst or top from there on in. lst if i am vegging for a long period of time and topping if for a month or so.
Yep, if you're good in soil, you will never need a support stick to hold up your plant. When you're good in hydro, you're the man. Straight up.yeah i feel you, the basics is definitely where it's at. i just told someone in a thread that he/she would be surprise how far the basics will get you.
Cheers, I'll check that out!No, might wanna check out uncle ben's topping techniques.

supercropping will give you big bushesCheers for all the replies guys though is seems we're all drifting off the initial question, so... As this isn't the case, what does super-cropping actually achieve? I had the impression super-cropping was a way of tricking your plant into thinking it has no top, causing it to make a new top out of a lower branch, right, or wrong?
Who needs LST when you have space for 4,5, and even 6 foot plants? If you think I haven't done LST, Fim, topping, etc.. you're misinformed.this is nonsense.if your good at growing you can use different forms of LST and HST to control height and shape, and also increase yeild.
also supercropping the main stalk will sometimes make the hormones within the plant make the lower branches the main ones.
this can also happen just by tying your plant over.
