Hello community! My veg room/nursery that I have photos of in my journal has been in use for about 7-8 weeks since sprouting from soil and I've noticed over the past 2 days a faint smell of bud intoxicating the closet I'm working in. Have not noticed it outside of the enclosed room but I'm sure soon. I thought plants wouldn't start smelling until put into flower? Is it possible I have an auto-flower and it's just time making whatever it can despite the 18/6 light schedule? I'll admit ventilation in the room could be better, I would like a little more fresh air in there and it's about to be re-located anywaaay, but IDK, any thoughts?

i dont think i would stress, i only did 1 grow so far, but when i was in veg i would rub the stock then sniff my fingers and it had a stench to em, but was never too intoxicating while vegging

Come on peeps, I don't want my nursery smelling like bud just yet! Anything would help, if you've had a similar problem or notice a hole/flaw in my setup design. Let me know! Thanks community!

It won't even smell much until you are a few weeks into flower, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My Mom's are in a small cabinet that I keep in my bedroom and I usally have them cropped like a bonsai tree and there's not much smell, but when I plan to take cuts I let them grow out a bit and as soon as I walk in the bedroom I get a whiff. I bought those glade auto sprayers. You get them for like 10 bucks and they last about a month. I have two near my flower closet that I have set to spray every 8 minutes, so actually every 4 minutes one sprays. I got fresh linen smell since it's near the laundry and it works pretty well.

I also got rid of 2 strains that were favorites, but just smelled so much I couldn't risk it.

plants can start to smell at anytime, depending on genetics, they can be very young and smell bad, or very old and smell like almost nothing, it all depends, but expect it to really stink, get a carbon filter, best of luck

Yeah my plants are actually starting to smell a little, but not like weed. When I get home from work I can definitely smell a new scent in the house, but it isn't weed. It more just smells like plants. As if I had an attached greenhouse lol

Yes vegging plants can smell at any time. Depending on how many you have how strong it will be. But the super strong smell won't be there till flower. A small filter or some on a gel will work. For the gel drill 1 1/4 hole in the lid and that's all you need. That stuff is strong.

Depending on the plant, they can smell very early on in the veg stage. If possible get yourself and inline carbon filter. Also there is small ozone generator for around 90 bucks that works well for small areas. Ozone jr. I think its called. Get something though because it will only get stronger. If they are smelling that strong in veg they will be even stronger in flower. Phresh filters are good.

You're going to need something! In veg my two plants smelled a little. Now 4 weeks into flowering, they f**cking stink like pot! A LOT OF POT. It's only a daytime problem right now because they're in a tent during lights out. My tent is open during lights on, so my apartment really reeks. I have a large "clean room" quality air purifier with a carbon filter going full blast, and it's keep things under control in that there is no odor of the plants in the common hallway of the building, and that's the important part. But I do smell it in the apartment somewhat.

If these girls smell worse in the next 4 weeks, I'm going to have to figure out additional tactics. Thatboyis1uvakind had a great comment about the smell in his tread and what he's been trying to do about it.

Good luck!

Stomper; don't sully my thread with stuff like this, please. It's not helpful. I have a 6" can fan and phresh filter I'm planning on using in flower but there's another 2 weeks at least until then so that's why I was concerned about it starting to smell, I thought they would smell like fresh oxygen (plants) especially before they even display their sex. Most of these replies are good advice or notes and I appreciate the ones with viable input, so thanks!
