how would a 400 watt hps do in a 3x3x5 grow tent with a 6in inline fan is that enough height

i have a 2x4x6 tent for my bedroom, you should check out my grow journal to see how i set mine up. i only have 3ft of growing space after installing the fan and the system. for a 3x3x5, a 400w would suffice as to lighting. say you take away 1 ft for lights. you have another ft for your pots or hydro system.

i used to have 3x3x6 tent with all from 400-1000w hps and it works great aslong as you have good venting. when hitting the 1000w mark it becomes a bit hard tho but doable . best of luck

i mean i could get a 6ft but where i wanna put it the ceiling is like 1in to short also do you know if those are exact size i heard they come out a lil bigger than that when put 2gether

also can some tell me what max yield is with a 400 or what would be a good yield for it

i cant give you an estimate on how well you are going to do because i have no clue how experienced you are.. if you are doing it right, and its your first grow you'd get anywhere from .25- .5g per watt.

if you make some mistakes, but it still turned out okay, then probably a qp.
if you made no mistkaes, and it turned out good, then maybe a hp
if you made no mistakes, and you supercropped, then you will have more.. it all depends

but then, if you just completely fucked your grow, then probably none so its not a garuntee

did you buy the 5ft already? if you haven't yet, opt in for the 6ft. it gives you more room for error in case you flowered your plants late, or if you by chance got a sativa. 5ft is adequate if you are doing dwc, or soil. but if you are doing anything else, you need extra space for the reservoir unless u plan to put it outside the tent.

i havent bought a tent yet but i plan on doing soil so ill prob go for a 6ft and try to squeeze it into the spot i wanna put it

Puts out less than half the lumens an HPS bulb does. I have no problem in the winter of overheating with that 600. I actually have to add a heater. I am looking to buy a 1000w halide strictly for Vegging and putting it in the tent. Then I will take the 600 and put it in my Flower room, which has a 1000w HPS. Now that I know it is pheaseable, thanks!

well last winter i used 1x600w hops and 1x400w hps in a DR90 (90cmx90cmx160cm) with 160mm fan out and 125mm inline and had around 27 degrees with end result of 630grams with auto genetics in 8 total weeks. both bulbs only had regular reflectors. but i would recommend a very very compact plant like black sugar from female seeds or even autos snince you want them LOW. you can pull a preatty good yield in a dr90 if you just do it right. i pulled max ~750 grams in it tho and it was with 800w HID mh/hps combo.

i gotta get over 6 ozs out of this 400 watt hps to make it worth it becuase my last two grows with cfl i got just about 6 ozs from 2 plants under 400 true watts of cfl

my most recent grow i got about 6 ozs same amount of cfl as you 400 actual watts if you got that with cfl you should do much better with the hid
