It is so wild what every candidate will say to garner votes.
There has been almost little to no talk about MMJ during the months leading up to the election.
It is the huge elephant in the room esp. with some states looking to legalize come Nov..

Not such a bad thing either... Would you rather the government control MMJ or the States!

If you have not noticed! Any powers not delegated to the government is delegated to the States respectively and the others are in the hands of the people!!

Cannabis prohibition will cease one day!

Obama just plain lied to get the vote and has continued to lie about everything else and now the debate shows he can not even keep his own lies straight. However I think you all need to understand that after this election, regardless of who wins, you will see Sativex released in the US. You will also see which ever one wins say that this is the medicine that is safe and affective as long as you do not make it yourself.

Sativex has been available in the Uk and Europe for the past five years. I truley believe that is why you have been seeing politicans change thier stance from totally against it to it has medical value just not recreational value. We all know that anything you can do for your own health can not be good for you unless the medical establishmnet makes money and politicians can gain financial support.

This also leaves them the ability to continue to fight that most needed fight...THE WAR ON DRUGS!!!! If there is no war on drugs then we all know the courts would be slow, the lawyers would be slow, the counciling would stop, the jails would be empty, and law enforcment would have to actually work on real crimes.

Under federal law it is not possible for any state to regulate MJ. It would have to be declassified as a drug that does not require approval by the FDA.

hopefully in my life time ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Unless you were born yesterday there is little to no possibility.

.
Quite possible :!: All the feds need is a way to make it enormously profitable. Since the feds have patented cannabinoids this is quite possible.

They need to reschedule cannabis first... That is the first step for the government to get its cut!

Talk about a monopoly; wait til the government starts its campaign to sell its NEW DRUG!

Not regulate but discriminate; the States can do my friend!...

If marijuana is rescheduled ( I highly doubt this will happen now). We will start to see a propaganda campaign differentiating smoke able marijuana and processed marijuana ( I.e. sativex) and demonizing of smoked marijuana. This is the way the gov can maintain a war on illegal smoke able cannabis while at the same time maintaining a new profitable pharmaceutical. Money is always the bottom line.

Luckily ROmney has little chance of beating Obama. If he does, we can all hang it up because the hammer is coming. Not only for future but IMO Romney goes after anyone who has been cultivating on the record for the past 2yrs.

Why don't you break out the tinfoil hat buddy.

you DONT think Romney will do everything in his power to harass growers/users if he gets elected? He is HUGE into Prison for profit, we have ALL committed federal feloney's(verifiable), which by the time Romney would be in the Oval Office, will not have passed the 5 year statute of limitations for federal prosecution for drug "crimes". He will find federal prosecutors to come after us if he is able and willing. It will be what the Sheldon Addelsons of the world want, to keep us buying there drugs from them.

Romney is a slime ball, he will rain down shit on this country on an unprecedented level, he is Bush 2.0, more church, less independent thinking. If the GOP has its way we will all be locked up making socks in Big Joe's funhouse, or federal equivalent.

I agree about Romney but just because we are registered patients and we have requested authorization to cultivate is not proof that any of us actually did cultivate marijuana or even possessed or used marijuana. So going after us all would be harder than you described plus I don't think that would be politically expedient. Instead I would suspect he would send the doj after the easy pickings aka store fronts or vocal activists.

You are probably correct in that they wont waste money and time "hunting" us all down and putting us under heel, the store fronts and "forerunners" will be the one they target.
The small fry growers and patient will just most likely be affected by legislation directed at NEVER allowing MMJ or Legal Mj to creep into politics again. They will offer "safer" medication such as Sativex, and then demonize us when we dont accept Big Pharma's MMJ alternative. At least that one way it could go.

But hopefully between Mitt being a completely out of touch liar, Obamas built in Liberal Voters, and Gary Johnson's 3rd party siphoning votes from Romney...... We can end up with another 4 years of Barak.....

romney is quoted saying

I would not legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes, and the reasons are straightforward: As I talk to people in my state and at the federal government level about marijuana and its role in society, they are convinced that the entry way into a drug culture for our young people is marijuana. Marijuana is the starter drug....The idea of medical marijuana is designed to get marijuana out in the public marketplace and ultimately lead to the legalization of marijuana overall. And in my view, that's the wrong way to go. I know that other people have differing views. If you'd like to get someone who is in favor of marijuana, I know there are some on the Democratic side of the aisle who will be happy to get in your campaign. But I'm opposed to it, and if you elect me president, you're not going to see legalized marijuana. I'm going to fight it tooth and nail.

A Question for Governor Romney

Dear Gov. Romney:

On several occasions in the past, you have voiced your strong opposition to marijuana use in any form, be it as a medicine or for recreational purposes.

This strong stand against marijuana is also part of your religious faith.

The scientific evidence supporting marijuana as a medicine that can successfully treat multiple sclerosis is overwhelmingly positive, and marijuana-based medicines are posited to be the new breakout treatment for this condition in the very near future.

Your wife presently has multiple sclerosis, which often progresses to physical and cognitive disability and earlier death.

Question:

Would you support your wife's decision to use medical marijuana if prescribed by her physician and she believed it would help treat her medical condition?

It's not considered medicine to the Mormon clans.
So I venture a guess the answer would be no; regardless of her being the perfect candidate for medical trials.

I forgot, The Book of Mormon makes the decision actually...Jk
