ok so i started three strains about a week ago. i started them in 3.5 gallon smart pots and planned to go all the way to harvest in those pots. ive been doing some reading recently and am a little lost as far as what to do. i failed to realize that i should be "potting-up" from a small container to a larger one to avoid root rot, over watering etc., so heres my problem. my seedlings are looking pretty good but the fact being that i started them in too large of a container makes me quite uneasy. i know im not having issues now but i want to avoid issues in the long run. if you could provide your insight and help me out it would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone

you can have them start to finish in some container no problem bro. ive had plants in the same container 6 months+ before flowering several times and have not run into rootrot from that.. dont really know if its a fact or not. i sure never heard about it, but i belive there will be no problem as long as you take good care of your plants. Hope this helps :)

thanks man, thats pretty reassuring to know. 6+ months huh? shows how much experience i have haha . . . . being that im new im sure that im over-analyzing the situation and making myself more worried then needed. im just wanting to make sure im giving my babies the best care i can so they (and i) dont suffer when harvest time comes

your doing it right bro :). i used to be the same, give yourself time to learn and if you have questions look up info from all the good forums that are around. i think you will do just fine :)

i might have to add that for planted vegged 6months+ i used minimum 25 Liter containers. read up a bit on "rootbound plants" while were on the topic :). only time i think i heard of veg to long in same container = rootrot is when using hydro and not having enough oxygen for the roots. but im baked now so can hardly type good lol

Just let your soil dry out a bit before watering again, if the roots are constantly wet there is a chance of root rot.
