I know. Does a military that consists entirely of poor kids not give you just a little pause, though? We have the elite deciding to engage in wars and they have no skin in the game. Do you think GWB might have been a little less reckless in Iraq if Jenna was wearing Kevlar?

another great reason to vote for romney, he protested FOR the draft before running off to france and staying in a mansion that his campaign has hushed people from talking about.

The congresscritters who vote for war should have to strap on the armorall and the AR and head to the front. That would put a stop to most wars.


Of course the P gets around congress today by calling it something else like what they did in Bosnia and are doing in the middle east and africa so the P has to head to the front as well.

Of course that is all pipe dreams and when the feds want more slaves to be sacrificed they will invent another enemy who has done something so terrible we must sacrifice thousands so we can kill hundreds of thousands of dark skinned people on the other side of the world.

Anyone who embraces drafting is a weak-minded puppet. To see all the vets on that website-link supporting a draft is fucking disgusting. What a fucking disgrace... really. They probably had no idea that they fought for a lie, but that's why people of that type support drafts... they are just fucking stupid, period.

The only instance where a draft would be justified is during an invasion of this country. In that case you wouldn't need to draft, because people would sign up in droves.

They tried a draft in Vietnam and 20+ million did not show for their duties. Try it again today, and see how many don't show up. It will not work, and it's a good thing too, that they won't show.


It would be a cold day in hell before this country thinks it can get over on it's people with a draft, to fight it's unethical and corrupt wars.

Yeah, every soldier chooses to join it ( and apparently is the last free will thought they ever will have ) .

The socio-economic situation they are raised in has no bearing on their decision to sacrifice their life for the government.

Draft? "skin in the game"? No, any draft that we are ever likely to enact would, as all other drafts have, allow the rich and powerful to exempt their offspring. I don't care if there was specific language stating that no young person would be exempt, the rich and powerful would have their children oh, say, being able to sign up for the Texas air national guard, or, like most Republicans, find excuses whereby they just didn't have to go at all.
