Damn...I never got into diamond watches. I always thought those were better suited for ladies.
yah, i never got into those watches you see say rap stars wearing, like the jacob's or similar.. i'd rather just have a nice watch that is a bit more low key then those..

I'm here to talk about watches bro. Not your personal preferences or opinions on whether you want to buy one or spend the money on them. I started the thread to talk watches with people who DO spend the money on them. Please respect that.

As far as the Casio, it's not my opinion..it's fact. Yes, your father had a Casio that lasted forever. That's great. I doubt he's proving me wrong on anything when it comes to watches. If you can't count the complications or movements on a watch then you aren't proving anything to me about watches.
It's not fact and it can never be fact, it can be statistical fact based on averages, but never a simple fact.

And actually you started the thread to see who was a fan of watches not to talk with those who were fans and buy them. See first post..

Exactly dude, go read the first post again. Those who are fans eventually do buy them. They are one and the same. You are argiung semantics. I'm not here to talk about your personal opinion as to whether I or anyone else should spend money on such things. If I wanna drop $50k on a watch then I will do it and I won't be consulting a bunch of people from an online forum about cannabis. Leave it alone dude. I really don't want to argue with you about this. You think that your dad's Casio is just as good as any of the watches we are talking about. That's fine. Youstated your opinion. It's wrong in my opinion. And since I know a WHOLE lot more about watches than you I will probably be sticking to my opinion.

Seriously bro, just go away. I'm not here to argue with you about your dad's Mickey Mouse $100 watch. Good for him that it lasted forever. We're all happy for him. That's not the point of this thread ok. You wanna say that you can't justify spending that kind of money on a watch then fine. I respect that. I feel the same way about certain things too. I'm done argiung with you...

Yea, diamonds were always kinda my stopping point. Never owned a watch that had a diamond in it. I've seen a few with a diamond or maybe a few on the dial that MAYBE I would get. As soon as they wrap the bezel or the band then it's just lost on me.

well... ive owned watches all the way from the cheapest omega to a custom designed franck muller... also... heres a small sampling of autos ive owned... carrera gt, 996, 575 maranello, m3, m5, m6, austin healy, s65 amg... etc...

so what...

you'll get bored with it all trust me... and plus... youre better off not having these types of possessions anyways, it starts to distort your view of the world... (has absolutely nothing to do with any stupid religion either, so you dont need a ridiculous religious excuse get rid of your possessions, and to come to the realization that these things may be fun temporarily, but what about others?)

if you can comprehend the meaning of this... you should, there are alot of people suffering in this world and things like this is the reason why...

i too was incredibly selfish and just would get so bored, and one week to the next would just buy ridiculous shit that would only satisfy that insatiable appetite for shit that you cant keep anyways cause when we're dead we're dead, and unless you have children where it would be important to have at least some funds available for them so they have a better chance of survival... they still can get by easily with less than a mil...

but its better to have them earn it, and learn that money is really meaningless, as i was very spoiled in my childhood and i never understood what it meant to even have to lift a finger for anything... if i wanted it, i got it...

just sayin... you can disregard my words if you want to, but i can guarantee that i am incredibly much happier without all of the shit in life that is just excess...

not trying to be a dick about it... but i mean this with all sincerity... i had to learn my lesson, and see that by being so selfish that what i was doing was actually hurting others...

p.s. you dont need fuck you money to tell anyone to fuck off btw, i can confidently say that with or without money, all the way from the pope to the pauper... but id rather help those and teach those that are in poverty and help them provide for themselves... thats where the true riches are... ;)

Fuck You money isn't so you can tell people to fuck off. Fuck You money is what allows YOU to do whatever the FUCK YOU want with your life.

We're not talking about money bliss. We're talking about watches. Thank you for sharing your opinion and I believe it does have SOME truth to it. I'll just say I don't choose to live my life that way and leave it at that. You are entitled to do as you wish just as I am.

no shit sherlock lol ;)

i was alluding to that the pope or the pauper makes and or follows stupid laws and tells people what to do with their lives from the richest to poorest ;)

you still can say and act in a manner that is conducive to not being controlled by anyone... wealthy or not... ;)

in otherwords it doesnt take money to do whatever the "fuck you" want lol... just sayin ;)

i know that... and of course you are silly... ;) im not dogging you for it... cause i did it too... i was just letting you in on something that feels much better than buying a bunch of crap and storing it up for ourselves... ;)

and when we are all at our end... all of these accomplishments that were done for ourselves and our posterity if you can see the big picture, wont increase their chance of survival, because eventually and regrettably as time goes by, generation after generation, our species wont be here if we all continue in this manner...

and that i can guarantee...

I understand what you are saying Bliss. Trust me. But I think it's a little naive and presumptuous of you to make a general statement about me and how I live my life based on the fact that I have decided to own several nice watches. You don't know what type of cars I drive. I could have a Prius and say the same to you about wasting gasoline and polluting the world. You don't know what charities I am involved in or the work I do in my community. Although I appreciate your sentiments and honesty I just want to talk about watches with guys who like them. I'm not here to get moral advice from someone on the internet that I don't even know and who doesn't know me. I reserve those conversations for my friends and family. Thanks.

i know that this is just a very simple whimsically shallow thread on watches... ;) and not a "philosophically" intended thread... LOL

just putting a perspective on these things as it had come to my mind and just getting it out... ;)

sorry if you had mistaken this as some kind of "personal attack" lol...

this subject just simply came to mind silly, so dont let yourself beat up yourself... no one is throwing "metaphorical punches" at you... ;)

I just don't get the appeal, other than it being a status symbol... I can't even tell the difference between a cheap watch and one of the expensive ones posted in this thread (Save for the one with the diamonds) because they all look so predictable and generic... I mean are those expensive watches? I would never have guessed, honestly.

I like stylized pieces... I would carry a pocket watch if I had a nice one... or a nice steampunk piece mounted on leather maybe.

Style over "costly status symbols" any day...

Drop those are nice pieces... my comments about "the expensive watches posted in this thread" excludes your post, I didn't see it before posting. ;)
