Men's Watches

Who else is a fan of men's watches. I have been for years now. Really got into them about 15 years ago while still in college. Mostly because of my dad. He always had a nice watch and kinda got me started down the road with one as a high school graduation gift. Never wore bracelets, earings, or necklaces...Always thought a watch was all a man really needed. Says a lot about a guy. Here's a few of mine...

Hublot Super B Flyback Chrono (Rose Gold & Platinum)

If you think watches are a waste of money or find something morally wrong with these purchases just keep it to yourself. I really don't care. Just wanna talk nice watches with a couple fo the guys. Thank you.

In the past maybe, not in today's world. I think spending a lot of money on a watch is a stupid thing, near everyone has a phone, with a digital clock on it, so other than vanity why would i bother with a fancy watch :) That's just me and my quirkiness though? If i need a watch because my lifestyle does not make carrying a mobile phone around practical, suhc as a deep sea diver, then i will buy a watch that is suitable to that style of profession, not a watch that looks bling. Personally, if i was given any of those watches, i would put it straight on ebay. Just as a start, like with designer labels, unless you are rich enought for EVERYTHING you have to be of said designer quality, then you just end up looking a dick in your average clothes average car pointlessly expensive watch (or if your a girl, handbag :p)

I mean i appreciate a high quality watch its amazing but kinda agree with this ^^ In this day and age i would rather spend my money on a really nice computer/car/suit/piece/w/e never saw the allure of an expensive watch.

But to each their own :)

I don't think a watch is worth spending a lot of money on, I've aalways gotten the plastic ones that take a lot of abuse. I've had this one for years now, light charges it. Waterproof, and I can bang it around and it doesn't hurt it. All I need is something to tell me the time, I'm not a guy that needs or wants bling

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm sure you spend money on things that others would find stupid and pointless. Plus, you said it...someone else's financial situation could be vastly different then yours. The one thing I have found with my watches is that they are hardly "Designer" and very few people even know what they are or the brand. Plus, I've had one of them for almost 12 years now and it looks like the day I bought it. And they are a lot more durable then a cheap plastic watch. It's not about being flashy. It's about buying a quality product. Just like growers who purchase quality bulbs, ballasts, soil, etc... To each their own. Plus, sometimes the worl in which you live dictates that you not wear a plastic watch. I don't make the rules of the business world...I just play by them.

Nope, i don't spend more money on anything than i have to, and if ever i do, it is because i am getting a significant usable performance or quality increase, not an extra factor of bling. I havn't owned a watch in years and years but the cheap as chips casio watches always outlived the fancy "rugged" metal fancy ones.

It is indeed to each their own, as is designer labels or bling, but i ent buying it :p

You get what you pay for...and no cheap Cassio is outlasting a single watch I own. It's personal preference dude. You don't like it then that's cool. My brother feels the same way. But I do like them and since I worked hard to earn my money, I have no debt, and I'm not breaking the bank to buy one of them then I don't have any moral issues with owning one. That's why I started this thread...to talk about and show nice watches. Not to get into a moral debate on whether I should be buying them.

I have stated it is personal preference, personal opinion, you are acting like i'm attacking you. And as to no casio outlasting your watches, that is simply your opinion, and one my father would probably happily prove you wrong on ;) Since when was i talking about the morality of buying an expensive watch? :/

I'm here to talk about watches bro. Not your personal preferences or opinions on whether you want to buy one or spend the money on them. I started the thread to talk watches with people who DO spend the money on them. Please respect that.

As far as the Casio, it's not my opinion..it's fact. Yes, your father had a Casio that lasted forever. That's great. I doubt he's proving me wrong on anything when it comes to watches. If you can't count the complications or movements on a watch then you aren't proving anything to me about watches.
