$500 to upgrade.. suggestions???

i got 500 bucks to upgrade my grow room. i currently got a grow cab, with a 400w hps with cooltube. i need to caulk all cracks and paint it white. i also got a 4 inch carbon fan and filter but a upgrade to 6 inch is a must. thats 200 bucks. i use 2 23w cfls for veg, should i get a better veg setup? i plant seeds for my plants as of right now. im on my second grow and im trying to get a setup so i can harvest every so often. my neighbor threw a closet away i picked it up so i might use that but i dont know what lighting etc to get.

so out of the 500, i need a 6 inch carbon fan and filter thats 200 with ducting. so 300 left to do whatever with. just need suggestions from people who are past this stage so i dont waste money buying things i dont need. or should i upgrade to a 600w lumatek?

t5s are the shit for veg i would recomend that for sure.... i got my shit set upo where im harvesting every two weeks and putting plants in flower room every two weeks right now, but im thinking of switchin it up a little.....


edit: oh yea and if you go to www.htgsupply.com they have pretty resonable deals on lights and fan filter combos

honestly i would....thats how im set up right now i got a 400w hps in my flower cab and a 2ft 4 bulb t5 in my other cab for veg i built both boxes outta quarter inch osb and 2 x 4s cut in half for the frame to make it light weight, and i got all my lights from htg their prices arent bad and fast delivery

yea i take clones, i harvest every two weeks cuz im always putting plants in the flower room every 2 weeks, at first it sux cuz you dont harvest your first couple for like 8 weeks but 2 weeks later you have couple more ready so on and so on and clones are the only way to go for sure

ahh, alright. i was just wondering it will take some practice to get cloning down as ive never did it i got tons of bagseeds i may just use them before i buy seeds and then they die lol.

right yea it took me a min to get cloning down, my first few didnt do so good lol but this go around im doin alot better with success rate n such but im tellin u its way faster then messin with seeds for sure....

that light would be perfect for me too, my veg cab is only 27in wide 3ft long 65in high im not tryin to have a ton just a steady supply n stuff

I agree that the t5 flouros are the shit...very efficient. Hold off on the lumatek 600 until ur ready to step it up. Get the veg setup on lockdown first. I never liked cfls but that's just my opinion. Learnig how to clone will be well worth ur time...fuck seeds. U need seeds just to get a nice momma or different strain then just keep cloning her.

i bought some good smoke, it was from cali my dealer said and i got 5 seeds out of it and they are all dark so im gonna clone them ones hopefully if i got my light by then. i got some xnutrients cloning gel lol so ill give that a shot too. i got 10 seeds in there now but they are bagseeds so i expect over half of them to be male..

man i miss the like button really good advice t5 is the way to go for veg.

this is the order i like to think in,

1 room hardware(stuff like paint, screws, caulking ect)
2 lights(bulbs and ballast) t5 for veg a CMH for flower, you should really get a CMH or a metal halide pulse strike 4000k, for the t5 flora sun zoomed(bulb choice)or coralife 6700k
3 ventilation fans and filters and ducting and stuff
4 nutrients
5 seeds

i was actually thinking of switchin to a 4ft 8 bulb high out put t5 its the yellow one that puts out 40,000 lumens on htgsupply

thanks for the info. i dont like cfls either, but its all i had. i will learn cloning from these bagseeds i got. then ill prolly buy seeds and keep a momma and clone the shit out of her.

why do you say cmh? i use hps.

Is your ballast digital? If so, use a 400W MH bulb in it and get a 600W ballast for flowering. Clone under CFLs, veg under 400w MH, flower under 600W HPS.. or 1000W if you can manage it.

thats too big i think. 600 would be the biggest i would go. i got a magnetic ballast. its the one from htg supply for 119. i will prolly do what the others have said. veg/clone under the t5 and flower under the hps.
