this thing is awesome. anything you look at has to be on a table or something. you cant look at a nug while its still on the plant, you gotta cut off a tiny piece. no biggie though. its got great magnification and comes with a light in it. and its 12 bucks! bought mine a looooooong time ago and it still works fine. oh and ask the clerk at the store to check it out before buying incase the lenses are cracked or something. the one i picked didnt, but some stuff gets broken in shipping, especially glass.

Must be a mistake. I have five different ones, and never paid over $10 for one. Here's the latest I bought for $2.99 with free shipping http://www.meritline.com/jewelry-magnifier-with-led-light---p-74266.aspx. It magnifies 30X, has a light, and its small. I like that one the best out of all the other ones i have. If you search on the site, they have others that are larger and with more magification. I have another one with 120X, but its too hard to adjust to.

ps: Meritline stuff gets shipped out of china.

Just curious, why can't it be used on the plant?

because it magnifies too much and any TINY movement by your hand fucks everything up and it gets frustrating. on a flat surface, the subject and the magnifier stay still unless you move it. even on the lowest magnification, you can see trichomes pretty clearly.

edit: also! when you get it, look at other stuff too! theres a whole 'nother world at that scale. if you have any bugs or infection on the plants, check em out under the scope. jeans also look AWESOME.
