anyone done this to modify a secret jardin ds120 to allow extra vents to air cool the light separately?...

I cut a 4 inch hole in my tent in order to exhaust my dry bin into it..... lets the char cannister handle ALL odors....not a prob...

No but it will work just fine so long as you don't mind cutting into your tent wall. Just make sure you make nice clean cuts and get the proper flange for the hole you create. Make sure you design something to baffle light leaks too. My 10x5x7 tent has plenty of vent so I'm glad for that.

Light leaks, never thought of that - don't want the neighbours seeing something resembling a lightsabre shining out of my room ;-s

i have heard that cooling the lights on a separate circuit and using a twin fan controller for intake/outtake will solve my temperature problems... at the moment i have it set up filter>fan>ducting> blowing air over the 600w xxxl hood>ducting>up and out the tent - passive intake do you think i will get better results by cooling on a separate circuit? thanks

That will work just fine. Should drop temps by quite a few degrees. My tent is huge so I only have a single fan but it also has negative pressure in the tent which I do not like. It sucks in. You will be fine if you get a seperate cooling system. Keep the lights sealed off from the inside of the tent. Draw fresh air from outside of the tent into the hood and it blows directly out of the tent. Then have a seperate intake and exhaust for the room air. Makes a HUGE difference.

i always wondered how those fans managed to pull a lot of air through them with a carbon filter attached - the problem is, they dont! i think i will see a massive difference, well im hoping so anyway - it definitely makes more sense, more airflow = less heat.

i wondered if i had been missing something... tried setting it up the other way described earlier and instead of my temp controlled fans hitting the spot i was getting temps in the 80s and 90s - looking forward to getting my new set up
