seaweed in the compost bin

Just seen on the telly, someone saying they put seaweed on the soil cos it makes the soil crumbly and rich. Is that something we can do to our outdoor grow, or maybe add some to my compost bin?

yea seaweed is good for plants I hear. Try busting it up in a coffee grinder or something and mixing it in with your water. Probably better results then just placing it. I'm not sure about compost though, it might just turn to nothing.

edit:
you can eat it too, its probably pretty good I had it as a little child and didn't really like it.

Well nusky im an indoor hydro man and a 1st time grower outside but i heard about mixing it with soil, but hydro??? Good idea but surely if you ground it up and mix it with your water, wouldnt that possibly clog up your pump!!!!

Well...what about the salt?

I guess if you rinse the crap out of it to remove any salt, it would probably be great.

I used Botanicare nutes for a long time and I believe they are made from kelp.
