How do you properly top for a SCROG?

would u top when it hits the screen or halfway to the screen? what would be the easiest way like topping it multiple times. the area is about a 3x6 and 2 plants will be in it under a 400w hps light

It is not even necessary to top for a SCROG - as they hit the screen just keep pulling them back down. Shortly all the smaller bud sites will catch up and even out your canopy.

u let it grow thru the screen a little like 2 inches, then bend it under, then let it grow thru again then bend again just keep doing that over and over. not like a weave u kinda pull it out where it grew through and point it in the direction u want it to go

Check out my grow journal, its very similar to what you have described here. I topped my plants VERY early, allowing them to grow 4 main shoots. If you have 4 shoots you can direct one to each corner of your screen, and a bunch of branches will grow of those filling in the empty space in the middle. In my case I have 2 plants as well and I just marked two sections on the screen, one for each plant to fit in. At first it may seem like they will never fill out the screen, but they do and FAST!! I also tied my branches with string so that they are going where I want them to go early on.

Agreed with NVGA. Top early or not at all. I like to top once so I get two shoots and it gives lower branches a chance to catch up. Enjoy! SCROGGING is the best.
