How many of those problems are linked to permissive Progressive social programs which encourage bad behavior, AND/OR a porous border?

I count eight.

As far as the others, is the EPA that much of a toothless tiger?

If so, what good is it?
that's right, it is not that texas sucks at life, it is that texas has been infiltrated by boogeyman progressives and illegals.

in other words, it is everyone else's fault. you choose to shun personal responsibility that texans so often love to preach.

that porous border puts money into your coffers, according to a report put out by your own state's comptroller in 2006

the EPA is not a toothless tiger, they are the ones pointing out how good you guys are at polluting your own land, water, and air so you can work to fix it.

we may have identified what is in the water, actually

I think UB speaks for himself JohnnyO ...We just happen to be on the same page...
Well, he did a fair job of stepping in to speak for you.

Please forgive me for asking him a question you should have answered in the first place.

So YOU tell me: How does a 9.5% rate of minimum wage workers equate to MOST?

i thought you were for limited government.

i know i heard you 'crying n your corn flakes', as you might say, about the government possibly expanding its role in health care not too long ago.

and now your governor signs a bill that firmly lodges the government directly between a patient and their procedure, and what do you say?

"so what"

LOL!

seriously, what is in that water?
Did I actually say, "so what?"

Or did I ACTUALLY state that I did not care for THAT particular bill?

Perhaps you should focus on what I write rather than what you would have me write.

Even if, as you say, 'Texas sucks,' we still seem to be doing a HELL of lot better than the rest of the nation.

That will not go unnoticed across the nation.

No matter how much spin the Obamamedia tries to apply.

rick perry has grown the size of government by about 10% since he got into office:

http://www.politifact.com/texas/statements/2010/sep/23/rick-perry/gov-rick-perry-says-texas-has-created-more-850000-/

since june 2009, texas has added 265,300 jobs as of last month (http://winteryknight.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/45-of-the-new-jobs-in-the-last-two-years-were-created-in-texas/)

as we saw in a previous post, texas has added 330,000 or so minimum wage jobs since 2007.

you don't have to be a mathematician, actuary or rocket scientist to figure that it is certainly very possible that at least 50% of the new jobs added since the recession ended have been minimum wage.

on that JohnnyO you are right I should have never said most...but In the USA 6% of hourly workers make min. wage...in Texas its 9.5% of workers ..so Texas total is still higher on average then the USA...is that something you are proud of ???? and I'm not talking just on new jobs added...thats over all totals...sad so sad

you're right, you said "so he signed the bill". i paraphrased it. i guess you're not into the whole brevity thing.

i find it comical that you can boast of rick perry's limited government by choosing to ignore his not-so-limited government acts. like adding 10% to the size of government.

Even if, as you say, 'Texas sucks,' we still seem to be doing a HELL of lot better than the rest of the nation.

texas sucks at life is what i said.

i'd love for the election to be a judgment on texas and how much it sucks rather than an evaluation of obama, as he sucks pretty badly, too.

but not even close to texas scale suckness. everything is bigger in texas, including the suckness.

I chose Obama because there is not a Republican out there I could imagine voting for. Well, Ron Paul maybe but he won't get the nomination.

Perry took office in 2001.

10% is not good, even over ten years, and I am not defending him on that point.

But, riddle me this: How much has the Federal government grown under the Messiah in just 2.5 years?

Are you guys against the Porkulus all of a sudden? Because it seems as though you are.

If so we are in agreement.

If Perry accepted Stimulus dollars, I will re-evaluate his prospects after I figure out how many states COMPLETELY rejected those funds.

Partial quote is cited as its rebuttal should have been included in my response.

But I hate substantive post-edits.

If it's so easy, it should be a piece of cake to prove.

So prove it already.

Guy you better do your homework on Perry he has too much against him..You know In 2004, he authorized the fund to grant $20 million to Countrywide Financial....man they going to kill him on that one...

rick perry only garnered 55% of the vote n texas in the last election in a year that was very kind to christian conservatives.

before that, he only garnered 40% of the vote, the rest being split between several other contenders.

at his best, he garnered 57% of the vote.

in texas.

if he can barely win his own state (remember, shrub got elected with 68% of the vote), then he stands no chance at winning a presidential election.

Perhaps it is YOU who should be doing the homework.

I've met the man several times. And to be honest, I have never particularly cared for him.

He has that oily, traveling-evangelist quality; especially in front of an audience.

And he is a reformed Democrat.

My interest in him extends only as far as his prospects of evicting the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
