This is what I'm planning on purchasing over the next couple of weeks for my soil grow however I want to make sure I have everything.

Basin (collect water)
Lights (2 x Fluorescent t5)

Chain & Hooks (to hang lights)
Electric Socket timer
Nutrients
Soil
Ph Test Kit
Thermometer
Seeds (obviously)

well if your gona kick them into bud mode and you want to make sure that your timer is working properly set it the time so that the lights are on when you are going to be home at all times till you go to sleep if that's possible so that if they timer didn't kick the lights on you are there at the time when the lights are supose to be on you can just turn the lights on

Sounds like a good idea, I'll probably set it up on a weekend so I can keep an eye on it. Also, whats up with fluorescents and flowering. I know they're not the best but can they produce decent buds?

The way I'll have it set up 2 cfls on either side of the plant(s) with the reflectors tilted facing the plant. I might get 3, one on top and two on the side halfway down the plant (with reflectors facing in) to maximize light to buds lower than then top. << That sound like a better idea, it helps to talk it over

he best list I have seen to check this against is in SeeMoreBuds fine book. He shows you exactly what and how to grow 8 oz of bud from three female plants usung 8-42 watt cfl's. I don't see anything about fans or air handling? For timers I recommend the digital 15amp they have at Menards for about $18.00. They have a battery back up so you don't lose the program in case of a power failure or if you have to unplug it and move it. My hydro shop has the exact same one for $35.00.
What is your space like? are you thinking of individual t-5's or two t-5 fixtures? VV

I'm using 1 42w CFL and 1 13w CFL that are both rated at 2,700K and the 42w is rated at 2,700 lumes and the 13w is rated at 900 lumes per bulb and mine are growing faster then my friend that gave me some clones and he is using TFL

The CFLs seem to be working pretty well for you guys so I'll stick with them. 8 oz is pretty sweet. Out of curiosity how much would you guys consider for 'personal use' as oppose to dealing?

no use all selling and also picking up a Power box (plugs right into the regular plug) can help make sure that your plants don't go into shock if the power goes out

$120 an ounce so 8 ounces would cost $960

$120 is the price of 1 ounce here in Canada and I have 5 plants right now but I am planing on kicking 1,000 for next year maybe 5,000 if I can and the strain that I am using is MillionDollar

What do you mean? The timer (connected to the lights) will be the only thing plugged in in the grow room.

So you are going to grow just one plant? VV

I'll see how many out of 4 germinate. If all 4 germinate I'll plant them, keep them small, flower them, pull out the males (if there are any) and flower them for a couple of weeks.

How much could I yield from a 12" plant? If only two germinate I'll plant them and grow them to 18-24". If only one germinates I'll try topping it or LST.
