I dont know if you're from Canada or not, but Canada does not have free speech. Im not going out on a limb here. Free speech is NOT A RIGHT here. If you say anything politically incorrect, you can and will be charged and put in prison! Many Canadians are so Americanized they don't even realize this about our country.Free speech rights are being squelched.

I find that hard to belive. Are you telling me Canada doesn't have something similar to a bill of rights with free speech being high on the list? I find this alarming. There goes my escape plan.

Well okay..we have free speech. But its not explicit in our charter of rights. There are a LOT of rules to what we can and cannot say. This article has a good interpretation of it anyone is interested:

It is mostly "hate speech" that is actively outlawed in canada. I remember not long ago someone here in Edmonton was put in prison for having the opinion that the holocaust never happened. True or not, I think a person should have the right to believe whatever they want.

But where does that start and end, It starts and ends with Law's otherwise if people just walked around calling each other Coons, Spicks, Wogs, Poofters,Homos, Lebbo's, Camel Jockey's, Poms, Gooks, Seppo's etc, it would end up in Anarchy, it seems any argument or discussion these days only suits the side that is perpetrating the discussion, recently we had our new government say sorry to our Indigenous population (Coons) for the "Stolen Generation" in which Aboriginal children were removed from their families and placed into white society up until about 50 years ago, now it was all tears and shit when our PM was saying was wanting to be heard, but as soon as our opposition leader made his speech on the same stage which expanded on the topic by trying to explain as to why the Govt of the day did this and also reminded everyone not to forget the Non - Indigenous people who made the country what it is today, certain members of Parliament and members of the gallery turned their backs (Literally) on the speaker in a show of protest. So I say with free speech, it should be just that, it may not be what you want to hear, but at least listen.

Dont think for one minute that the nationalized health care in Canade is well thought of,i live in a border town of the USA & Canada & i employ several Canadians,they hate their medical system,sure it's free but it sucks,they come here & pay out of their pockets as much as they can afford for health care.
Another thing when you talk of nationalized medicine,you start a trend that Canada is suffering from right now & thats lack of quality doctors & specialists,as soon as possible doctors & specialists flee Canada for greener pasturer's where they can get rich,in Canada doctors are not rich,they are middle class working men.

If The US went to socialized medicine, then the canadian dr.s would have no place to go and rape the citizenry! Dr.s should be educated with public funds and then paid fairly for their work according to their skills.
Most Dr.s get rich by opening clinics and specializing in some vane surgery, like plastic surgery. The co-ops of Dr's and HMOs allied with the rip-off insurance companies have driven the price of medical out of the reach of the average citizen. With 50 million+++ uninsured, this system must change. BTW I see you are an employer. Might this have a shadow over your opinion? PS I don't know how I jacked the lines in here, but it was unintentional. And that as much as they can afford statement speaks volumnes of untold actions.
