Light of Jah

The Light of Jah is blowing up in San Diego County's medical community and I was lucky to stumble upon some healthy clones at the dispensary. I am excited for the results.

However....

It seems the Light of Jah went from being my prize strain during veg (Blue Dream, Orange Diesel, Berryjuana and Chocolope are alongside the LOJ) to being a little bit behind the curve, relatively speaking. The leaves are cupping down, but only near the bud sites. Also, the buds are not nearly as big as the other strains. The Blue Dream, for instance, is BLOWING UP, and so is everything else. I know LOJ takes about 13 weeks to flower if you want to do it right. So I'm sure the flowers will catch up eventually. But, what about the downward cupping near the bud sites?

8 plants total and we are one month into flowering:

• Curved SCROG with a 400w Cool Tube HPS in the canopy and two X 90 watt LEDs auxiliary for the extra ambitious pokers creeping above the HPS
• CO2 enhanced with a feeder tube running through the plants (CO2 is warmed to room temp first)
• Roots organics soil - about 2 cubic feet per plant in custom made cedar and redwood mold and rot resistant boxes
• Coco chips for mulch
• No bug problems - Azamax, bitches! (not you, the bugs - - - those bastards)
• Alternating pure water / azamax / hygrozyme / probiotics / nutrients
• Nutrients right now: buddha grow - 2 tsp (per gallon)
  buddha bloom - 1 tblsp + 2 tsp
  trinity - 1 tbls
  ancient amber - 1 tblsp
  hp2 - 2 tblsp
  hpk - 2 tsp
  bud candy - 1 tsp
  cal mag - 1 tsp
  silica blast - 1 tsp multi-zen - 1 tblsp pro bloom - 1 tblsp
• 88F while lights are on
• Constant 50% RH
• About 700 cfm air circulation around the room (not pumping out of the room because I have CO2)

So, anything I should know about Light of Jah? It seems odd that all the other strains are soooooooo happy and the LOJ is not mad, but a little ornery. I feel like she's 90% there but I know we can make her ecstatic somehow!!

The Name of the strain would imply Jamaican genetics, if so, settle in for the long haul for sure on that flower time. 13 weeks? yeah, you're on track, cuz those Jamaicans put on weight way past the ripening stage of most indica influenced genetics. don't trip; Ill bet they end up weighing more than all those other strains. Jah Love

I've heard it has very similar genetics to Jack Herer. It is considered a more advanced strain to grow indoors. I think a lot of Jamaican strains are difficult, but worth it. It'll be nice that it's going to have that extra space and the lights all to itself for the last three weeks. Everything else will come down after ten weeks. Thanks for the input. Any other words of advice on those tricky Jamaicans?

I'll find a camera and hook you up with some photos. I'll also be sure to show you the finished results.

Barring major cataclysm, I'll harvest the Jah on January 30th at just two days short of 13 weeks total flower. I'd keep it those extra two days but we actually move a few blocks down the street on the 31st.

Just wanted to update. The Light of Jah is now BLOWING THE FUCK UP. SHIT IS CRAZY. THAT IS WHY I'M SCREAMING AT YOU IN ALL CAPS RIGHT NOW.

Haha, seriously though, thanks for the encouraging words, bobbypyn. And, kpac, my friend has grown this strain so I talked to him a little after posting this. He said it is definitely worth the 13 week wait.

This shit is like Jack Herer on steroids crossed with some haze or something Jamaican, also on steroids.
