O.k. so ive helped on numerous grows and have been for a few years now. I think im ready to do it on my own.
I have a FUCKTON of cfls because im a cheap bastard and ive been using them for like 6 years now so i have alot of them. What i dont have are the clamp light fixtures, i left them with a buddy of mine that runs a reptile rescue and the herps needed em more than i do. Ive got miracle grow which is a ph of 6.5 so im thinking water with a ph of 6.0? lemme know if ne one knos different. ive got 2 26 watt daylight cfls goin right now, the seeds havent fiished germinating, im doing some experiments with germination methods.
im doing a soil/cfl grow. i dont have pix yet (theres nothing to see). The whole point of this grow is its my first grow all by myself and i want to experiment with some different methods and techniques ive heard about that i havent seen anyone do yet, and a couple of ideas that i myself have.
im probly going to end up doing betwen 3 and 5 plants for my mad experiments and 1 plant for regular growing (kind of like a constant) just for my own personal useage.
The seeds are all bag seed from a dub of regs that i went trough with tweezers and a magnifying glass grouping them into 4 categories as follows: grabage (self explanitory), unlikely (seeds that i dont think will grow), average (the biggest pile), and excellent. for the first 20 or so days of growth they will be in small peat based pots, then when i feel its time i will select 5 plants for the experiments and have them isolated from each other.
since the grow is in my laundry room i have hot/cold running water, drain pipe and the ability to vent to the air outside via the dryer duct. I will be using shower curtains to make the individual "tents" that my babies will require and im fashioning a crude carbon filter out of some car parts and activated carbon.
