Hello...

This is thread started to discuss growing MYTHS and if you tried them and they work let us know..

The first Myth Id like to get amoungst is....

Instead of flushing - can you just add a CAP full of undialuted orange cordial to water? The man in my grow shop rekons it adds fruity smell and flavor.. he told me not to buy a flushing product?

Please feel free to comment, discuss or leave new myths for debate...!!

LEB.... :joint:

Most "Flushing Products" are actually just various types of sugars and/or Vitamin C... These type of products are not really needed... It is possible that they may be helping a little but a doubt that the results are worth the money, and I'm sure with a little research and effort you could easily make a similar product at home for a fraction of the price. Water works fine.

Some people think that flushing isnt "real", or doesn't effect the taste of the final product whether you flush or not... I say that they don't have as much experience as they would like to believe... Ive tested this many, many times and I can easily tell the difference (both visually and in the smell and especially in the taste) between a flushed and a not-flushed plant... I can even notice a obvious difference between a 4 day flush and a five day flush.... Flush your plants people lol.

Milk works well for killing Powdery Mildew... You can even get Organic Milk if you're into that sort of thing.

RE Orange Cordial Myth

Ingredients of a typical (if quite cheap) bottle of orange cordial;

Water, Orange Juice (10%), Citric Acid, Natural Flavouring, Sweeteners (Sodium, Saccharin, Aspartame), Preservatives (Potassium, Sorbate, Sodium Metabisulphate), Stabilisers (Carboxymethylcellulose, Acacia), Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Natural Colour (Beta-Carotene).

:-?

I wouldn't drink it, never mind feed it to such an expensive plant.

ALRIGHT nice answer

I got a few experiments where I am bustin some myths right now...

1) Myth #1 - Minor light leaks cause hermies - my flowering room is going to have a 1inch gap on the roof over into the veg room, shouldnt leak any lights onto the plants or maybe none at all cause the hood kinda blocks it but still might be a minor leak into the room so yeah they are not going to be in complete and total darkness although they arent going to have any light hitting them.

2) Myth #2 - Miracle grow doesnt work and will kill your cannabis- yea so I am using fox farm ocean forest on all but two plants right now, the two plants have MG Organic with 30% pearlite and dolomite lime mix - The mg plants are doing better then the others so far lol...although the mg soil really does suck to work with thats obvious but its working great right now.
yea thats busted i used that and killed so many plants

yea dogs can get high by eating it or by getting it blown in there face.... its not really cool to do though. Your lucky your dog didnt need its stomach pumped and a pricey visit to the vet, because that much weed could damage a small dogs insides seriously bad not to mention give it the worst acid trip of its life... not fun for your dog.
Lol she wasn't freakin out or anything and technically it's my parent's dog but i will forever call her my dog lol. It wasn't at ALL intentional, I wouldn't waste a quarter to feed to my dog either hahha thats like 4 blunts!! lol

No doubt, I wasnt thinking you were being malicious or that you did anything wrong cuz I know shit happens and dogs eat your stash haha... I have just seen my parents dog eat my dads herb back in the day and it wasn't funny at all... The first time she ate it, she couldnt walk or stand at all and was squirting liquid shit everywhere uncontrollably... and it also became obvious that she was hallucinating and seeing some pretty scary stuff lol... Anyhoo, After a while when things didnt get better we took her to the vet where they had to flush her stomach with a charcoal milkshake like substance and it was expensive... she didnt get totally better for a day or two and luckily there wasnt any serious internal damage.

I know this sounds like a funny story but it really wasnt... This was also a large amount of herb and a small 12 pound dog, so I admit that this sort of outcome is probably a more extreme scenario, but I just wanted to let everyone know it is possible to hurt your pet and its not cool to risk doing that to your pet just to get a laugh.

Nothing serious would of happened to your dog seriously......the vet just got you for some money.......I have raised and bred dogs for a long time.....and unfortunately I have had the my stash eaten more than a few times by my dogs.........yeah they get really f ing stoned and may not be able to control their bodily functions.........but it's nothing a good 20 hour nap,and lots of water can't fix......telling people that weed can harm your pet is false......they might run into the wall or run into a busy street.....so keep them contained if they do get your stash.....

You agree that by eating the weed it could make the dog "not be able to control their bodily functions"... How is that not harming them?
As a human, if you ate something that made you soo sick that you couldnt control your bodily functions, would you consider that something you ate harmful?? You wouldn't mind right? -Just take a 20 hour nap and drink some water.

Just because you piss yourself doesn't mean actual harm is being caused my friend............you might stink but no actual damage is occurring........lol..........it really isn't serious......the high will just go away after so long........I was being sarcastic about the 20 hour nap.....if you didn't catch it.........if you want to give your money away go for it pal....I was just stating how cannabis causes no permanent damage to your family pets...just gets them really stoned........dont you remember the first time you got high....welll multiply it by 1000 for a dog that is not as heavy and probably never injested cannabis ever (low tolerance).........did you go to the doc and drink some juice to flush your stomach.......probably not......you just over reacted which is understandable when a family member (your pet) looked ill,.,.,. but never the less your actions were unnecessary.....

California veterinarian Joseph Humble tells L.A. Times reporter Andrew Strickler that “Some people may enjoy pot, but I assure you dogs do not.” According to Strickler:
The plant’s effect on canines is considerably less benign. Even a few grams can cause staggering, vomiting, urinary incontinence and, in severe cases, seizures and coma.
For those who want to learn more about the dangers, a toxicology study published in Veterinary Medicine (June 2002) details the clinical signs, toxicity, and potential treatment of dogs who ingest marijuana. At the time the study was written by Caroline W. Donaldson, DVM, out of some 250 marijuana ingestion cases reported to the ASPCA, two animals had died.

I agree. I mean, I've gotten my cats high before, but I'm just a bad person. Now they push their faces in front of mine when I smoke, and come to me like I have treats when they hear my grinder. Fuck. I'm awful.

Shit! Myths thread. How about this one: Putting a rusty nail in the stalk of your plant while in flower will increase thc levels, as well as quantity. Can't wrap my mind around why some people are still willing to try this.

If they get too stoned then give them a little pick me up and see if they like cocaine... maybe they will come running for it after you blow it up their nose for them the first few times?
