I'm more for filling the chamber half way or so, and doing a good 15 total feet of volcano bag (currently around 3x5ft full bags before i go fresh).
Im actually trying to locate somewhere to purchase the volcano bags locally, and give them a shot. :-P

.

Thanks HFB, great explanation. I knew nothing of the 18 holes nor the pulses, it makes sense.

Have you tried some type of extraction with your dregs? If so, how and what quantity and how potent?

bongsmilie
Sorry, I thought for sure I mentioned on the inside, underneath were you put the crucible there are 18 holes drilled in an Y patter, with sets of 2 in each area, ill include a picture as well for you. ;)

I am also collecting the dregs now to make some cannabutter, want to see if its any more potent than dregs from a volcano, or any other vapo for that matter.

Also, HFB how would you compare the herbalaire to this http://www.arizer.com/node/8 ?
Hey Jerry, thanks for stopping by brother, and thats a good question, and one I get frequently. You would think The Extreme vaporizer would be great because it works as a bag and a whip vape, its got a pretty LED, a remote control, and cool glass pieces right?

Wrong. Unfortunately, The Extreme is sub-par, even if it were at at $249 price, let alone the $300+ prices im finding online.First, lets actually talk about the differences between the two. Both are bag/whip combo vaporizers. The main difference is how they extract and deliver the vaporizer. The herbalaire is the most efficient unit Ive ever seen, see my previous posts for an explanation on the extraction process by the pump on the herbalaire. With the Extreme, the only way you can get decent qualty vapor is by grinding all your herbs. With the herbalaire, you can shove whole buds into the unit, and it will hammer away at the bud, and extract all vapors possible out of the bud without charring it in any way. See my previous post for picture of spent herbs. The Extreme has a nice pretty LED, and random blue LEDS on the bottom, that can actually be turned on and off, for what reason, I dont know. you also can select your fan speed, which again, useless in my opinion, but they are using a fan system, which is just poor technology compared to a pump system used in vapes like the volcano and the herbalaire. I have spoken with two seperate RIU members who have the Extreme vaporizer, and BOTH of them have broken a glass piece or two. My buddy mikegreenthumb cant even fill up his bag system I think right now, because he broke the main glass part on top, which allows you to use the bag setup. Although these pieces can be ordered and replaced, thats more money out of pocket. My mouthpieces, and bag attachments are all made out of Teflon. I can literally throw just about any piece of my vaporizer (except the unit of course) against the wall, and it wont break. Just want to note as well. Two days ago, my herbalaire fell 3-4 feet off a table onto a very thin carpeted floor, and sounded like it hit concrete hard. I plugged it back in, and has been working the entire time. This is a very well built unit.

Also, not sure if you planned on buying your unit from anywhere like ebay or amazon.com, but with the Extreme vapo, if the unit is purchased below authorized retail prices, the warrenty on your unit is null and void. I did some research and this is the response I have, from Arizer, the maker of the vaporizer you have mentioned...

“We now require an Authorization Number and receipt copy for warranty service. Sellers under MAP will be pointed out and noted that we don’t honor the warranty on your discounted stock.” This is mainly geared towards Amazon and eBay."

So basically, unless you buy it from a authorized dealer, or straight from the manufacturer (which I ALWAYS suggest anyway) you get NO warrenty.

Dont know If i answered all your questions for you, but let me know and I will be more than happy to help out in any way I can ;)

Cheers everyone, im filling a bag now bongsmilie

Well, I went ahead a purchased an HerbalAire h2.1 directly from HerbalAire. Vaporstore.com does carry it, and you can use a 10% off coupon, but the warranty is only 2 years, and who knows if you get the new efficient pump or the old slow one.

Ordering direct from HerbalAire I have a 3 year warranty and I know I'm getting the good pump (it explicitly states on the product info page that the pump is new and improved as of Jan 2010). For an extra $25 I'll take the extra year warranty and the good pump.

Should be here by early/middle next week. I'm sure I'll try it out the moment it arrives, so I'll keep you all posted.

 Congratulations! Man I bet your stoked. Poplars should be receiving his any day now as well. I am excited for both of you to have this amazing device. :bigjoint:

Update: I also wanted to go through a quick tutorial of how to clean your herbalaire, since I received a pm about it. Included with each herbalaire is a plastic tube which fits (1) Crucible, (2) or (3) Mouthpiece straws, and one mouthpiece. What I do is add about 3 pennys worth of Mortons coarse rock salt and 91% iso alcohol in there and shake it up for about 30 seconds, then let it sit for about 10-20 minutes. I come back, shake it again for 20 seconds and wash all the parts off, and everything is as clean as the day you got them :D

Keep medicating guys, feel free to post any more comments or questions. I may post some pics tonight of me cleaning the parts later...who knows.

so this is by far my favorite vape.

heat up time, 2 mins, crucibles keep themselves clean by design, all parts fit together smoothly and elegantly.

the thermostat on this thing is whikidly accurate, move the temperature knob even slightly and it'll say it's either too hot or too cold.

so hfb gave me a tip that you can pack a crucible full, vape one hella tasty bag at 350, and then vape a stonier bag at 375 that doesn't taste bad at all.

the other way I typically do it is half a crucible at 375.

if I want to get really really baked, then I do a full crucible at 375. that'll fuck you up.

regardless, this thing has met my expectations and beyond. and with 3 year warranty I can rest easy knowing I'll have atleast 3 years of service out of this thing. and if I don't, I konw the company is cool enough to get my problems fixed up within that period.

so I'm stoned as fuck, and my first try typing this got deleted so I retyped it. luckilly I"m hella high.

the 30 min shutoff is very useful as well. don't have to worry about it when I go outside and such. *puff puff*

so uh yeah. if you're looking into buying a volcano I suggest you buy this instead. same warranty, same functions essentially.

not hating the volcano. just hating the price.

honestly I would probably buy a volcano if it was 350, not 500. regardless, the herbalaire goes for 250 with free shipping from the company itself right now. so anyone looking into that I suggest you go for it!

anyways I've been straying off hella, bag number 2 at 375 out of the same crucible is fuckin me up :D.

not to mention, I can take 1/4th of what I would roll a joint with normally, pack it into a crucible, and get HIGHER than I would have with the joint.

so that should give you some sort of perspective of how fucking awesome this thing is.

I got mine today, and have spent the day playing with it. Very easy to use...takes very little time to figure out.

The mouthpiece does tend to get quite warm, but it cools down quickly.

Pump for the bags is fast.

I'm too high to give a proper evaluation, but suffice it to say I'm high and quite happy with my purchase. I agree with everything poplars said, aside from wanting a volcano if they were 350. I'd still take this bad boy.

" unless someone really wants to know how long it will take for the turkey bags "

Oh, i want to know :)
Gnarley! First off, welcome SOorganic, and thanks for checking out this review.

Now, you are talking about using the Tri-Bag WITH 3 turkey bags right? Damn, that shit is gonna mess me up! lol Alright, well this is the deal. I will do this test for you in the next 3-4 days, just give me a little time, I need to go pick up some more bags.

Now, I will attempt to fill 3 (turkey)bags with the standard pump, but to be honest, I will probably end up using the High Output Pump.

either way, 3 turkey bags + 1 stuffed crucible = Party Time!

 Congrats! As far as your mouthpiece goes, if you noticed, they gave you 2 white straw-like pieces correct, and you have been using one at a time? I stick the extra straw into the black mouthpiece for the bag when its done filling, and that solves the problem. Also, after you take like 2 puffs off the bag, you can go back to the black mouthpiece because its usually cooled down by then.

Good to hear its messing you up enough to properly evaluate it, and now you understand why my review was a few dates late in the beginning, and poplars had his a day or two(or three) before commenting on his. This shit will seriously delay any activities for days once you get this item.

Good to see more people giving this diamond in the rough a chance. There are so many Bogus vaporizers out there, whether it be cheapo hot box's, to look a like Fuji volcano vapes, its just nice to know there are still quality vapes out there, besides the volcano.

+rep to all who have the herbalaire :D:D:D:D:D

so I used this thing in 33 degrees F in a garage with no insulation . . . it worked absolutely perfectly.

so yet another amazing thing about it, the climate control actually works . . . the vapor quality was equivalent to indoors :D
