TRUMP INDICTED

This falls short of the minimum standard of evidence. An honest, non-activist judge is a trier of fact, not of allegations that are not only irrelevant, but subjective.

Trouble is — that is not the sort of judge P01135809 was wont to appoint.
While it should not matter I think they boo booed

But if you are saying Willis shouldn't have done this because it gave Trump's team a chance to take a risk that cost them nothing but could pay off big, yep, she shouldn't have done it.
yes to this ^

it just gives the defense enough to challenge the character of Ms. Willis.

the data indicates they were together late at night.

I don’t have a dog in the fight it’s just not a good look. My using the work “may have” is being very gentle considering the cell data.

ideally you’d want the prosecutors in this case, who both are pretty clearly on a personal level not fans of Trump, to not have been hooking up at any point in time.

You highlight why emotioneering this suggestive but not conclusive information has no proper bearing on the prosecution and trial of this case.

To the post after yours, “not a good look” is just the sort of noninformation that Republicans are exploiting to shift sentiment.

It's a bad look alright. Its not evidence of wrongdoing but it's a bad look.

It might even cause the injustice of preventing Trump from being held accountable for his crimes against the State of Georgia. I don't think that anything you've brought up amounts to a reason to let Trump off the hook for this. Maybe you do. IDK

What I don't understand is how you could say you don't have a dog in this fight. We are talking about the then President of the United States using his influence and a ring of co-conspirators to conspire and then attempt to overturn a fair election that was held in Georgia. I would think that anybody who supports our democratic system would care about that.

^^This sums up US politics.

Republicans mock disabled people, veterans, POWs. They openly sow hatred against any who want to stand up for humanity. They pick on the most vulnerable with no consideration or decency. They fuck porn chicks, transfer minors across state lines for sex. They openly call for the end of democracy, and it's just another day.
They simply deny everything and carry on destroying the planet.

Meanwhile, the Dems scramble to refute every bullshit sideshow distraction the fascists bring up (using unprecedented dirty tricks and illegal tactics)and give credence to the opposition by doing so, and the press amplifies every bit of it, while ignoring Trump's full on dementia and fascism and contempt for everyone but himself.

Y'all are a goddam mess.

It is the failure of the press to … press the matter that mystifies me.

It’s like the grim joke I heard forty years ago:
“Russians launch massive missile strike against US! Details at eleven.”

"You're having sex with a co-worker!"

"You are fascists working to destroy the constitution and establish a pseudo-christian autocracy!"

Which one is more important? Is this really a tough question, Yanks?
We Americans have an insatiable appetite for titillating gossip.
Used to be, even a suggestion of sexual impropriety could crash a career. No longer. Matt Gaetz and the harpies of the overthrow caucus have shifted that paradigm.

Who here remembers Gary Hart?

Well, yes. There is a double standard in play here. When a Republican commits a shitty, gross and corrupt act, it's not news. It falls on the 16th page of printed news alongside the story about a dog biting a man. It's news but not anything unusual. When a Democrat does anything that approaches crossing the line of normative standard ethical behavior, it's front page news. "A bad look" vs "uses testimony from a Russian spy who brought with him information given to him by Russia's spy agencies to prosecute the impeachment of the President of the US" and it's the "bad look" that gets front page treatment.

But you know what? Democrats are trying to win and keep the standards up. Which is one reason why I think we have a good chance of winning. We want to come out of this with our system of government intact. Can't do that if we sink to the other side's level.

I did not expect this. Especially after their testimony
Don't hold your breath. Refer to the final paragraph of the piece. There are no specifics to the data besides the general area, and certain lawyers prefer to lean into things other than real facts. Especially in the media, where Trump wants this to be put out to.

Just my opinion on "loose ends".

Once again Who TF is on trial here,2 consenting adults under a ridiculous spotlight is THE STORY,when this MF is on tape pressuring the Ga. Sec. of State to invent votes ."C'mon give me a break",sound familiar.
You are right, Donald Trump is on trial here and the story Trump's lawyers concocted is not only irrelevant to Trump's case but they don't have evidence to prove their case. It's all just another instance of the orange monkey throwing poo at people who are just trying to do their job.

McAfee hasn’t been the least bit squirrelly so far re: any of this - it would be stark contrast if he breaks for this bit of roadkill theatre

This is a main reason “they” say liberals are stupid; “bringing a policy paper to a knife fight”, is how they used to say it.

it not only ‘elevates’ the bullshit by taking it seriously, it recenters a serious flaw in liberal assessments of “conservative” motivations: the failed notion that they “just don’t understand”, they’re mistaken, old-fashioned, ‘traditional’, & only lack a proper explanation to clear things up.

That Australia-sized blind-spot is how we let things get to the current stage - and the 10-20 stages prior to that - by never calling on their bullshit ‘cause cordiality

in the interest of code-switching, please take this on board for some thought: when I was a kid in the Deep South there was a pretty popular song, the chorus went, “save your confederate money, boys, the south will rise again”. I thought it was funny, silly at the time. They meant it. Then and NOW.

The confederacy is still striving to beat the union, TODAY, and we see them in the House of Representatives every day, waving their dicks at the USA, showing a fine patriotic disregard for the nation & its very design, straining to turn the clock of history back ~160 years, and creating enough chaos, division & dysfunction to buffalo the public into breaking faith w/ what the founders called our civic religion.

I said the same upon this coming out,I was like WTF now,you had to give this MF ammo to run interference,a "tremendous", "perfect" case,to use Orange lingo, dead to rights on tape(thank the heavens AI wasn't out, they'd be claiming it's a D generated fraud)and you give him air.

you know this whole willis and wade thing is just a big nothingburger don't you. There was no conflict of interest in they're relationship....all this is just a big stale tactic from the RICO case they have on Don Don and the gang of dummies
This is the Orangeman's doctrine,a hybrid of his mentor Roy Cohn and his reality show in your facism, attack the attacker/admit to nothing/maintain lies w/a stamina that tires opponents,it's sickeningly obvious tactically but effective in exploiting a judicial system built on fairness w/a presumption of innocence.

Am I tone deaf? The story told by The Orange Man's defense team was that Fani Willis hired her paramour so that she could spend his wages which came from taxpayers on luxurious business trips. They had no evidence to confirm that she did this. To me it sounds like a wild tune played on a broken instrument.

Trump is going to do this. Everything around him turns to shit, even his opponents. Its all about appearances to him and he needs to coat his surroundings with gold or else the sulfur he emits would corrode his furnishings. Since its going to happen anyway, protect your eyesight from the shit he throws into the wind and focus on evidence, facts and what is proven to be true. We can't worry about appearances when the guy who throws shit at his opponents has his hands covered in it. I like Bagginski's post:

^this

McAfee's rulings have been solid and based upon the evidence. I hear clear tones from him surrounded by harmonizing evidence. If he rules for Trump's team, it would clash with everything he's done thus far.
