Powdery Mildew Question.

Hey everyone. I’m looking for thoughts, ideas, knowledge, advice etc.

I picked up a clone recently and after a week I noticed pm. I grow indoors for years and have never had pm. I can easily scrap it as I have a large variety of strains but would consider keeping it if it’s curable.
I’ve done research and find conflicting answers.

My question:
Based on your own growing experience/knowledge…
Is PM curable for good?
Or is it systemic like some say and can come back once the plant has its forever for that plant?

I know about treating it and keeping it at bay. I know about keeping a sterile room, filters, air flow Yada yada. I’m wanting to know long term can a plant that has it rid of it or is it something that can always come back more likely once it has it?

Is it truly curable?
Or is it now just maintenance to keep it at bay because a plant has it forever?

It's not systemic. Downy mildew is systemic.

It needs high humidity to germinate, but once it's there it will happily continue to grow at low humidity. Hence why keeping the environment in check is the most important part of getting rid of it...

I would say if you can take a cutting that is free of PM, and get rid of the infected stuff, you should be good.

I had pm bad on a plant last year outside. I used Athena’s IPM for a couple weeks, and it got rid of it. Haven’t seen it anywhere since, and I took cuts from the greenhouse. It can definitely be rid from your space/plants.

I just stripped everything down to the first two nodes. This will help me spray what I need to for cloning before resetting. I’m spraying them with purecrop1 every two days until Friday then I’ll take cuts for cloning and hope for the best.
Sucks, I had everything ready to go in 5 gallon pots for my next run. But I know better and better get this in check first and take care of what I have before gearing up for another run.
I just had a nice harvest so I’ll be coo for awhile. :eyesmoke: B8259EDE-9E44-46C8-AA35-594C6064EC2B.jpeg469C6E18-407F-4C58-9467-969D442FB49C.jpeg

Get some " Banish " off Amazonit's never failed me and its organic and very safe !
It's cfrom the Netherlands.....it's geranium oil .....no toxic products of combustion.
I've talked to chemist who run regulated grow houses and researched MSDS
info . Two lights prays, twice a a week....problem . It actually kills PM !

What worked for me was keeping my day and night temps real close to one another with an ink-bird and a small space heater. The temp swings seem to kick start the PM. Not sure if you even have a temp issue like I did but that’s what worked for me. I of coarse did a cleaning of the tent and equipment also.

I was just looking at this product last night on Amazon! Im going to get a bottle. I was thinking this and some type of fungicide product that is systemic that way I can combat this with a foliar and systemic product. Accompanied with a hard deep clean multiple times I’m hoping to get this in check. *fingers crossed*

I have no doubt this stemmed from dirty clones I got. It’s relieving to hear from multiple growers that have had PM over come it. It makes me hopeful. I’ve had thrips, mites, aphids etc and overcame those obstacles. Im optimistic I can get this in check.
I’m going to put the brakes on getting clones from store fronts.

You've got balls. I would not bring a cut indoors knowingly that had pm. Especially pm that bad. That shit looks fuzzy, and I'm an outdoor guy used to seeing pm...

I do have some outdoor plants I'd like to get cuts from for indoor this season, let us know how you make out. Best of luck

If I were you , I would buy just a very small bottle . That stuff diluted, will cover a lot of plants ( unless you're growing a farm field of it ).
I'm pretty sure the bootle (I still have) is 2.5oz. I basically grow indoors, about 18 plants ( I do however , always plant several plants in my
daffodil bed . The daffodils I grow are very, very tall...its perfect cover . If I get some unwanted visitor, the flowers diameter are so large and colorful,
it's a great distraction) .When they just started showing signs of that
f'ing PM , I only had to spray twice, a week apart , and it was gone ! The only reason my grow rooms were infected was because I brought in, from
outdoors, a couple of young plants , how stupid ! When my outdoor plants show signs of PM, it's always happens when we get a streak of hot,
very humid weather........yada-yada!

I used a water spray with hydrogen peroxide mixed with some neem oil. Sprayed it maybe 3 times. Seems to be gone. And little bugs making spots seem to have disappeared too.
