The difference between what you see in a 70s issue of High Times and what's grown today is that modern strains can handle commercial veg nutes. Put Blue Dream up against an old OG. Look at all the old pics, you'll see similar differences. You see the same deficiencies/toxicities as anyone growing a Sativa today. Downward curled leaves, blue-gray color etc.landraces dont produce so much though do they, well as i understnd it, im going to have to spend £80 a month, just to run my smaller 400watt light, so im looking for a heavy yealder, im not too bothered about longer flowering as people will pay good money for a good sativa buzz
Skip the veg nutes. Foliar spray the correct trace minerals to increase flowering hormone. Provide warm nights and proper phloem nute profile. Old ugly 20 week Sativa is now much more like dense smelly 10 week indica.
Don't believe me, then count the burnt tips on modern indica strains. Every single tip on every single grow you see... Sativa never had a chance against the calnit mershweed con pesticide craze. Even the indicas today smell like milk and cookies instead of dank weed. From breeding with mersh veg nute profiles that ruin plants health.
