Coco and ph levels

It’s tomatoes and tomato’s old pal.

I’ve been feeding my 11L (3Gallon) pots twice to 3 times a day for the majority of the flowering cycle.

Last run I grew 1 single plant in 2 gallons of coco in the same footprint 3x3 and I was feeding every 2 hours.

the idea being that each environment and plant will let you know how often you can feed.

Can you feed once every day. Yes.

Can you feed once every couple of days. Yes but this way can accumulate salt build up and it’s about knowing the signs.

Considering you’re on your first INDOOR grow using coco I would suggest you feed once per day during veg and twice per day during flowering.

Rather than worry about what’s happening to the coco pH every hour I would be more concerned with completing a full cycle of growing in coco.

Unless you’re going to invest in serious lab equipment to keep the coco pH constantly read and monitored I just can’t understand why you’ve been so hostile to folks around you offering the same advice.
Thats some heavy projecting dude. I think you have been pretty hostile, bombing 4 pages with that one opinion and style, which is not good for me.

I want to water every other day. Thats why i need my ph to stay stable. Or stay in ideal range. Fluctuation isnt bad in itself, as long as it happen in ideal ph range. Fluctuation within ideal range is actually preferrable. I have between 10-12litres airpots which can hold enough water and food for two days.
So thanks for your opinion ive heard it now, but multiple feeds during day isnt optimum for my needs and setup. I understand that this fluctuation doesnt mean much to you if you target to water 1 or multiple times per day. Because you reset it all the time, i get it.

Then you are choosing the wrong medium and it is you who is wrong.

It can be done but not with that size airpots.

By the time your plants are 4 weeks into flowering those airpots will be dry every day if not quicker.

If you want to go down the route of feeding every other day (I have done this by the way ask @bk78 and @twentyeight.threefive as they picked me up on it a while ago) then you need much larger pots than you are planning.

at least 20litre airpots for once a day feeding to keep enough moisture in the pot to not affect pH.

You can’t target a specific pH range by constantly changing it every other day to stay within the “optimum” you are trying to achieve.

My best grows in coco have come from
Multiple daily feeds whether this fits in with you or not it’s just how to optimise coco.

I've got an idea.........why don't you just ask your friend that always grows top notch bud. LMFAO.
I bet some you guys lose your shit when you hear about my friends style. He grows in coco, add nutrients straight to tap water and then feeds. Doesnt even check ph (lucky bastard), and offc he didnt have any clue about ec xD Doesnt clear off RO.
Sometimes theres no RO at all.
And yeah, he waters every other day.
Never had problems, always top notch bud.

Coco should be kept between 90-100% saturation at all times; this is common knowledge and one of coco's unique characteristics.

As suggested above, use soil if your primary goal is infrequent watering. Doing that in coco will result in unwanted swings which you're now seemingly trying to avoid.

Also @Trickster52 by feeding every other day even using large pots I would still encounter high EC salinity issues during flowering usually around week 5/6 which room until the end to resolve and usually ended up with heavy necrosis and major yellowing leaves.

I only ran those 5 gallon buckets twice feeding once a day, definitely wasn’t optimal growth imo. 2 gallon with multiple feeds daily is optimal imo.

And your aggressive one opinion approach continues. I want to water every other day, deal with it. You can do it in coco. It has been done. And it have been done 10-12l pots. If you do 90-100 saturation style do it. Dont push it to me. If my usage of coco is wrong, then so be it. Now for a change, talk about ph levels, and its fluctuation in coco, because it matters to me :)

But yeah, how hard can it be to grow without ecmeter? If within few grows (or few weeks) im not starting to be a plant whisperer, i get the ecmeter.
How is that plant whisperer technique working for you?

If you are growing tiny plants sure it can be done without drying back too much.

You can’t change the history of common coco knowledge. I used to water every other day. After about 2 weeks you run into lockouts from ph issues. Your not going to stop that swing as the media drys out because it’s coco. That’s what everyone is tryin to explain to you, through that thick skull of yours. Stop asking for unanswerable questions and just start a journal and run the test. Tag us all in it when you do. So when that media crashes. We can say. Told you so.

So you failed in every other day scedule. That being said, you are not competent advicing in this matter.

Just get some damn Blumats for a constant drip/feed and call it a day. Then you won't have to worry about anything except the pH in your reservoir which is easily monitored and adjusted.

Its going well. Still no need for ec meter.
Going well? Then why were you asking about new problems with your grow everyday?

You changed the EC strength back and forth so many times and had no idea what it was at even once.

What’s your plan for feeding in flower when the coco is bone dry in 24 hrs? You still going to insist on feed every other day?

You got in over your head with a medium you had no idea about and now you want to hear answers that you think are correct.

If you don’t want to do the work you probably shouldn’t have picked coco.
Clearing runoff is too much work for you, so you ask if you can leave your plants sitting in runoff.

If you don’t want to do the work you probably shouldn’t have picked coco.

My 2 posts explained how it can be done but isn’t optimal.

Wasn’t aggressive in the slightest in those posts.

But I can see that no amount of helping you will actually help you.

pH of coco stays stable unless you get dry backs.

Every dry back event in coco increases the salinity.

If the salinity Keeps increasing and you don’t know what the EC in or EC out is you won’t know you have high salinity until it becomes apparent In the deficiencies/necrosis you see in The plants.

At this point you’re fighting a losing battle trying to correct something that you’re not testing.

Im impressed that you have searched me thorougly, and pick on every mistake ive made in my first indoor coco. Which ive learned once and fixed the poblems, on my own, searching info everywhere. No thanks to "get the ecmeter" clowns. And i fixed them without ec meter. You are appearing to be an overly sensitive narcissist, who got offended just because i disagreed with you, and now have raised massive shitstorm with your forum posse. Again, thanks to your advice, its not good enough for me.
