How do I get them thick stems?

Yes it is generated thru nitrogen uptake so with a stronger cell wall your plant can utilize the uptake of said extra nitrogen and not get burnt and by doing this it creates larger stems you create a stronger cell with the silica and the uptake of evrything else grows and then you see the effects thru a stronger plant and larger stems you are correct but missing the reason for the silica it’s not changing what makes the plant grow it’s changing how it grows by creating a need for more nutrient uptake and usage sorry was using voice to text this is one large sentence

That’s what I was getting at. It’s the soil sun vegtime unless someone posts stems of that caliber in coco

this silica thing really got ur noodle cooked huh, lol...i could grow a stem like that in coco, but it would take me a long time to dial in the feed regime and i would probably end up using some Power SI.

See we agree, veg time, health etc of course you’d add some silica but I’m guessing (because I don’t use/amend) not as much as npk

It’s not cooking my noodle really. I didn’t think silica was the “key” from the start of thread. Yes I said soil which is naturally abundant in silica but not really thinking silica is the main or major factor to size

I should add that I do believe there’s no point to size without strength
That's lignin and it's awe inspiring power..
Lignin google results
So lignin and cellulose are only thing in my head most times. Once you know this stuff well, you dont even give silica a thought...but in a coco environment it would likely be a required supplement to get beyond the normal tent sized grows.
Also why you never see my outside plants with any support. Cuz i know the wind will build the lignin and cellulose...silica? Wtf is that. Plz dont make me go get pics.

Mud don’t run for pics lol but I never noticed you don’t use support? You don’t ever have any heart breaks( pun intended) and find any colas on the ground. Mine do just fine till heavy rain

Yes I got that but strength and size are two dif things imo. I know a baby Huey who at first glance is an intimidating sight but he can’t beat me in arm wrestling. My point being is imo what makes something big is often dif from what makes it strong

After a certain size i would have to add support.thats also why i dont grow beyond that size threshold. I like cycling thru more phenos and variety rapidly. Nah haven't had a heartbreaker event from that. Ive broken branches like a fool, mother nature kills my grows in other ways.ugh

When every need is met, TIME is what thickens stems.

Have to remember that other parts of the world have much MUCH longer growing seasons that allow stems to get that thick, and obviously also genetics are a major factor.

I've seen Sativa's with stems as thick as my leg and near 20 feet tall, like a pine tree.

impressive!
Did you use any topping etc?
Ive been growing outdoors for years, but never really done much apart from plant them, then harvest them a few months later. I want to do some learning so I can grow monster trees like I see some folks doing on here.
No topping, sprouted from seed in March, couple of feedings of compost tea, thats about it.
