Hydrometers reading different

Okay everyone I am a bit confused. I have two seedlings waiting to come out of the soil day 1 now. 3x3 tent, exhaust fan ON, 2 oscillating fans running (one at bottom and one at top) de humidifier running outside of tent in bedroom. This is my first night and I noticed one of the meters is reading 80 degrees 82% RH which is high I believe for seedlings and probe is at top of soil. Another meter ( which is at bottom of pot tray next to vent) is reading 80 degrees also but RH 40% ... I am confused lolz is one malfunctioning? Can’t be because both are identical when it comes to temps! Please advise ! See pictures below.FYI I turned my humidifier off because I left it on during the day since RH was 48-57%

I was thinking the same thing.

Looks like he watered not to long ago as well.

One in the soil one seems to be on the floor.

Even if its not touching the soil the evaporation of the water would read higher.

that makes sense , the soil was still damp. I moved the probe on the pot tray so it will read like the other meter.

Probes just for temp and not for humidity .
Ones reading couple of degrees higher temp due to been on black plastic in direct light.
The humidity is probably just dodgy, they are cheap items and not very reliable. I have one that reads 100% humidity.

First.....The one with the probe....the probe is for the "out" setting.....it's currently set to the "in" setting....... change that. Also I believe the probe is just a temp probe.

Good to know ! Last night was my first night with the seeds in the soil (after they popped of course) and I noticed humidity was climbing up to 84% so I was freaking out because for seedlings/clones I think maximum humidity needs to stay under 70% correct?
