Outdoor’s no picnic either!

Damn, thought I’d make life a little easier and put a few girls outside. Then came hurricane Isaias, split my Diesel right down the middle and got another major branch of White way. Tried to tape them up and added some support. Wonder if they’ll be ok. And now some bugs are eating leaves like it’s a Las Vegas buffet. I think it’s grasshoppers but never actually seen the damn things. What do you think? Should be ok.
I'd a storm take down a plant a couple of years ago. I pulled her back up, put a big stake in ground and tied her up with a rope. She just carried on as if nothing had happened.

I'm not sure what causes the leaf damage, I'm in UK and had similar damage on an outdoor Auto. Maybe something that feeds at night. I'd one or two moth caterpillars too. They were inside leaves that were folded together.
Seemed like a minor problem to the plant though.

Interesting insights about the bugs. I've got a couple of plants vegging in my living room in the open and noticed some leaf damage. Just before going to bed last night I noticed a small moth sat on a leaf of the effected plant. That is a great plant, and a great rescue job by the way - top work!

Wow! Those plants look amazing in that first pic! Shame they experienced the hurricane stress, but I'm sure they'll be ok - they are solid looking bushes.

The caterpillars I had were I think Tortrix moth caterpillars.
The slugs and snails don't seem to bother my plants. I've seen the odd one at them but they prefer my other garden plants.
They're a minor irritant rather than a plague of locusts that demolish everything in their path.

MYSTERY SOLVED - Well I had to move those pots for better sun, and when I did I found about 30 fat slugs under the bottom of the pots!! Little suckers were sleeping under there during the day and at night climbing out, partayin up chompin up all my plants!! The diatomaceous earth and the aspirin seemed to help!
