First time grow

Hey all first time grower here so bear with me..

Trying my luck with 4 seeds I've had since last fall. They germinated in a glass of water in about 3 days no problem.
Threw them into solo cups with 4 holes on the bottoms yesterday morning but a few questions..

- Is it possible to overwater as I let the tap drip (not flow) into the cups after planting the seedlings?

- According to pictures below, I feel like I didn't add enough soil..are they a write off of should I just let nature take it's course?

They cups are currently sitting on a plate under the stove light but temp conditions seem pretty ideal

Yes you can overeater.

(How I pop beans(.)
Glass of water for 24hr take out sinkers put those in wet paper towel and fold. Place on a plate and set it above the fridge for heat keep it wet. Check every 4 -8 hours for tap root to show then into pots, one inch deep holes. Grow and smoke.)

I would of filled up the cups just like a normal pot and kept it moist but not saturated.

Did you put them in the hole pointy side down already popped?

Got a heat pad?

They look deadly wet IMO but see what comes up in the next week or so.

Yes, taproot down for all 4 cups then covered and watered.

Funny, I do have a heatpad just sitting around. Would it be of much help if I were to use it?

Best case scenario for me from here on in would to just keep hands off for a few days and let them dry til they are at least moist

I kept mine above the fridge in that small cabinet or in the hot water closet before I got a
proper seed set up, tall dome and prop tray, t5s and seed mats. Now its like easy to pop seeds and do clones.

Good luck

If you can get it to 85ish degrees any higher is all bad after a short time.

I'd rather try a window or some place warm

That is a very low amount of soil. You’re gonna be forced to re-transplant sooner than you should because the roots are gonna fill the bottom of that cup pretty fast. And considering how low the soil is, overwatering is a big concern because the roots don’t really have anywhere to grow. You want the roots to search for moisture, not sitting in liquid, otherwise the plant won’t grow.

You need a propergator for humidity and possibly a heat mat inside, they don't need alot of water, just a little bit

Best I can come up for a quick fix atm is throw it in the laundry room with the light on which is the warmest and driest part of the house. Give it a day or so and then check the progress

Sandwich bags have been on for 24 hours to dry them out some more. 2/4 have finally sprouted. Gonna leave the bags off but wondering about light. I feel like the taller one will be reaching up faster than they need to be. 20200512_092821.jpg20200512_092806.jpg

Congrats. Yeah you will need adequate lighting soon or they're gonna stretch until they fall over. Bigger pots soon as well since your cups are already low.

Ty. I'm aiming for the bigger pots if anything in the next few days.
Down here in Niagara where the environment is usually ideal for growing has had shitty weather the past few weeks. But I'll focus on that later should they make it into larger containers with a medium.

Welcome and thanks for joining us.
Looking good, keep it up.

You might want to post in the main newbie forum next time for more feedback.

These girls (I hope) are starting to get tall even more than this morning. Looks like the stoppage of watering has helped a bit but I don't want them to twig out and die.

I'm wondering if I should kill the lights for the day or simply throw them near the window so when nighttime comes, they'll get natural exposure come morning. I'm getting antsy for the bigger pots and soil as there's been an order placed come transplant time.

Slowly growing now and had to put them in 5 gallon pots with ProMix premium.

Watering once a day and doing the 18-6 light cycle with an led in a closet (best I have atm) They look healthy anyways..just want to know if I should change anything.20200515_132122.jpg20200515_132122.jpg

Water less than once a day. Maybe once a week while it's still small unless you have self irritating pots that over water can not happen but fungus gnats can. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You might want to pH the water at some point, if you're going synthetic. If going organic then forget about it.
