Sulfur burner, pm

The growroom is in my garage so no worries of polluting my home
My grow room is also in my garage. I've been bitten by pm. In my experience, proper environment management thru the grow is mandatory...or else.

I burn sulfer in the garage for 4+ hours. Preventative. Before grows, and during. Also successfully burn in grow room....veg....and first couple weeks of flower.

!!!!!! Safety first !!!!!
I use a single burner kitchen "hot plate" to vaporize (burn) my sulfer prills. It's cheap and effective. It requires anal safety setup under and around the hot plate - to prevent burning my house down! Key is getting the temperature just right....so it vaporizes, but never combusts into open flames.

Don't try this unless you do your homework and are anal about safety.

Same goes if you use a purpose built sulfer burner.

Eagle 20 is a banned substance in states that test for pesticides. There must be a bigger reason than riu bro science.

My guess is there is a huge difference between combusting / smoking a substance and walking on it.

But even a brief google search found a mountain of evidence not to use it. ymov.
E20 is approves for tobacco in China.
The only actual scientific study stated that after 5 days 50% of myclobutinyl remained in tobacco leaves and at 21 days that diminished to 10%, which amounted to 0.8mg of myclobutinyl per 2.2lbs of dried tobacco leaves, and this was after multiple applications.
So I'm guessing that spraying one application 10 weeks before harvest that amy health concerns are quite minimal.

I ain't using a hot plate!
I bought a sulfur burner. I don't want a fire. I'm wondering how late into flower one can burn sulfur? Any experience? I'd hate for my buds to reek of rotten eggs. On the other hand sulfur is a nutrient so perhaps the plants will just suck it in?

From what I gather most of the concern about combusting eagle 20 is that some of the product is converted to cyanide. That sounds awful but an adult would need to consume 100mg of cyanide to die, in fact almonds, apples, apricots all contain cyanide. The above post I referenced a study showing that dried tobacco treated with E20 contained 0.8mg of cyanide per KG of tobacco. So as you can see what little residue remains of E20 is not of comcern.

Cyanide is a short-acting toxin with no cumulative properties. I’d be more worried by unreacted pesticide and it’s larger decomposition products.

Haven’t had any PM issues since I started following VPD chart. Nearly 70% humidity in mid flower. Also running intervals of UVB and a hepa filter. It’s the change in humidity and temperatures that helps PM thrive.

So, how did the sulfur burn go?

The battle is still on for me...I used Regalia for the 3rd time last night and it's not helping....well maybe it is, but the pm is spreading. I'm about to try some potassium bicarbonate, which is similar to baking soda only stronger and supposed to be safe in flower. I also picked up some Recharge. as supposedly a boost of beneficial microbes can help.

I'm treating with something every single day now...and I'll be glad when if I can harvest in a few weeks!!

Yes, both as a foliar spray AND as a root drench, but so far nothing has really worked...I just sprayed with potassium bicarbonate & organic soap, and did a root drench with Recharge...Fingers crossed!

What I've been doing is applying Eagle 20 a week before 12/12 but by week 6 the PM appears and comes on with a vengeance. I then apply neem oil as best I can and it's just a waiting game until harvest.

I feel sad every time I hear someone even mention Eagle 20.

Just get a $20 hot plate from Walmart and some elemental Sulfur pellets. Turn the hot plate on 400F and drop some sulfur. let it fill the room while your not in it (WITH LIGHTS OFF) for 30-45 mins

That's a good way to burn your house down if you're not really careful, and the OP did buy an actual sulfur burner.

Just don't do this if your grow is in your home, as sulfur can be quite poisonous! It can cause permanent health problems!! It also can leave a taste in your buds I've heard.

Yes burn sulfur between grows, but use the burner you bought and be careful...it does kill any spores in the air..look into a uv-c light for your room...

Or an ozone generator is great for in between grows, and a decent one can be bought for under $100...and probably a lot safer than sulfur IF used correctly

its not as dangerous as you lead to believe. I used to eat pure yellow sulfur for a skin condition
