Pie plate or not, I'd tend to agree with your range estimation. 200-300 yards is remarkably easy once you have a decent platform and your own ammunition, let alone with an elevated position and a dope chart. I believe "Dats my bike" was referring to the standard AR loadout though, which he is correct most are the shorter carbine barrel length with red-dots and quick acquisition sights. I keep my 30-06 at a 200 zero for deer, and .308 is just a necked down 30-06 to reduce the air space, not sure how that wouldn't be as equally accurate.

FFS you’ve got a guy here promoting conceal carry and he forgets he’s carrying. Yes your right there are a lot of irresponsible gun owners. Oh the irony. That is one of the issues you have. Pretty much anyone can walk in and buy anything they want. Our laws are not perfect but it takes about a week to complete a hunting and firearm training here, with a 2 hour written an practical exam. It helps to root out the idiots that would forget they have a gun in their pocket .............. just fucking wow!!!

A 308 is not a necked down anything. It's a 308. The 7mm08 , and 243 are necked down 308s.
The 30 06 is 100 year old round and is just that. The 270 is a necked down 30 06. Just like the 7mm rem mag is a necked down 300 win mag.
I've been reloading everything from 243 to 338 since I was 12. My dad was crazy about hunting growing up and it's all we did.

32 rounds in 4 seconds. Double tap in 0.75 seconds. Accuracy of over 200 yards.
Imagine if your average mass murder shooter was half way intelligent enough to use one of those, and practiced at the range for a few months. Maybe then you'd have something to cry about.

I just wanted to keep you informed. You seem to think the ar-15 is an "assault" rifle, when it's nothing of the sort. Also, there's tons of smaller, more accurate, and less recoil even though the Tavor is a shorter 17 inch barreled in 9mm compared to the smaller lr22 caliber of the ar-15. That's why I think all those shooters are Manchurian Candidates, because a 5 minute Google search reveals options way better than the ar-15.
Also you can find tons of information on how to do a tactical operation, such as the correct stance, carrying an extra conscealed carry size pistol as cover while reloading, etc. Yet none of that has been done by any mass shooter. In this age of information, I find that quite strange.
