Ok, thanks i shall try that. To dry it shall i just put it on windowsill so sun can dry it or should i do it another way?
Clip the plant at the base, and hang her by a coat hanger for 3-5 days in a closet,or somewhere with minimal airflow. What is your ambient humidity in your home? The lower buds aren't very dense ,they will dry in about 3 days(humidity dependent). It should be dry enough for you to sample, well since you use it for edibles, when you put it in the oven to decarb,it'll certainly be dry enough lol.
She will give of some smell in the drying process so be mindful of that.

Hiya,

Thanks for the info. Its an indica/sativa strain, i think 50/50. I think it was a VIP autoflowering dwarf type and gives off a lemony scent (thank god lol) i used john innes soil and just used gro sure plant feed untill budding stage.

If i get a good effect from this i shall definately do it again. I may get a couple of months use from the buds i think. I may try one over winter just to see what happens but it may be to cold for it.
I'm not familiar with the soil or the nutrients. Football is on and I'm too lazy and stoned to look right now.:bigjoint: But, you may have stopped feeding too early. When you said you "used the gro sure until the budding stage", does that mean you stopped using it once she started budding and just watered her until now?

I hope you do try one over winter! Do you get good sun in that spot during the winter? That is your only limiting factor(besides better drainage for that soil). You may get enough to last you thru next winter, since you don't consume much.

It's fucking cool that you know how much to decarb and sprinkle in your yogurt to get the rest you deserve.

Hi, thats correct i stopped giving it the gro sure nutrients when it got to budding stage and have just been watering since then as i read somewhere that you need to be careful with nutrients at the budding stage so didnt want to kill it off.

I get good sun all year in that spot so thats a bonus. i think my home faces south(ish)

Im not sure on humidity but its a very dry place with no damp. A couple of times a week i do open the window for an hour to get rid of any smell though. Cant wait to try it .

As already mentioned, next year get some better soil c/w perlite.

You may also have better results using an auto-fem as it will start flowering much sooner than a normal plant

Below is a Dwarf Low Flyer auto-fem....you could also consider growing some nice flowers to help mask the smell and camouflage the MJ plant.

Cheers, hey i like that plant in the first pic and that little one in second pic. That's what i need to aim for. Don,t want anything bigger and what a good idea for flowers. i wonder if a lavender plant would give a good smell or even some chives maybe hmmmm lots to think of for next time

Ok. I'll have a look-see at the nutrient and soil you are using. It appears the soil carried that plant fine to this point. So no adjustments may be needed there. Definitely need to get some better drainage in it which may cause more waterings.
I'm positive that itself will be the most beneficial input to your particular setup and it a fairly cheap one. Depending on the size bag you decide to get, you'll have perlite you may never use. Just make sure it is not the small particle size perlite. You want "chunky" or Horticulture grade.

You mentioned the leaf/leaves not curling in your OP as a sign of them not being ready.
I'm not sure what you meant. You want to judge plant ripeness by,overall plant "look" stigma"pistils" receding into the bracts or calyx, swelling of the bracts/calyx,the trichome heads will be Mostly cloudy in your case. Some amber, and maybe even some clear, minimal on both.

If your place is dry. You'll need to keep an eye on it when it is hanging.
At the 3 day mark, check it by gently holding the buds to see if the outsides are crispy, somewhat brittle.
They should still have some bounce back or sponginess due to the inside not being dry.

Clip the buds from the stems and all the large fan leaves off. Leave a little stem on tHe nugs so you can handle them, and it helps slow down the dry.You can leave the sugar leaves or leaves with the trichomes on and put those buds into a brown paper bag.
That whole plant cut down, should fill a regular grocery sized sack at the bottom. Maybe even 2 of the small paper lunch sacks.
Fold the top over twice and set it back in the closet for 3-5 days.
Every day or so,open the bag up and rotate the buds, close it and put it back.
You'll know the texture and moisture is right to jar, when you see it and feel it. With YOUR plant I'm estimating 7 days from chop until jarring with the paper bag method.

Sorry for the long post. I just like this grow. Minimal inputs to get the yeild for medication you need. You will basically sleep good for free after your next run for as long as you decide!

Also, I do not run soil now. It has been a long time since. Just putting it out there before I get jumped. Lol, I can grow ganja tho. Hopefully some of the soil folks and auto folks will find interest here and chime in.
I see at least one I'm familiar with has had a look. He knows his shit.

Thanks, it looks like youre in the know. Lots of info and will definately refer back to this when im cropping and drying.

When saying about little leaves not curling, i mean the little leaves that look like they are attached to the buds. When i buy weed it has little leaves and they are more curly and squished around the buds but maybe this is because its been cropped and dried out,

Btw good for the op growing their own. That’s way more than most people do. Hopefully you guys will be legal soon and you can do something a touch bigger.

This is how its looking today- cant really tell on pics but the buds are looking fuller. I thought the bottom ones werent gonna get much bigger but they are doing well. Another week or so before cropping and drying. Cant wait!!! 20190925_135501.jpg 20190925_135457.jpg 20190925_135452.jpg

Current Situation:

Its looking good- large buds up the top looking bigger.

What seems to be happening though is that theres even more little buds arriving at bottom of plant- they have just produced those little white hairs that end up brown.

Im wondering if i could just crop the buds that are ready and let the others carry on?

Its funny how its still producing buds.

When my Dad was alive he said that if it was legal to grow here, People wouldnt need to buy asprin for headaches any more, they could just pick what they needed off their plant. I wonder i could just do that. Maybe try that when ive got 3 plants on the go.

Looking good. Yes you can harvest in stages. Clip the ripe buds and let the others go a while to mature.
Cheers and yay the site is back on. Looks like it's been upgraded. I was worried for a while it had been shut down for good lol. Phew. I think my plant is starting to honk today as I've had the heating on. Will start cropping this week :leaf:

So i was about to cut off the top biggest bud cluster yesterday but noticed its produced some new white hairs that were not there before!

Im wondering why its decided to do this. Its like its going into flower again which is fine if its not going wrong and i get more crop.

I think ill pick that top bud this week to try it out. Just need to get hold of some paper bags as we are all about plastic here still :(

Sounds like you’re on top of it... not bad for a window sill in the uk!

Where abouts in uk? If you’re interested changing it up and growing in a tent, I have a small 60cm x 60cm x 1.5m secret jardin tent you can have free of charge, only used it for 1 grow. You would need a light though of course!

And don’t worry about paper bags, just dry your bud and stick it in an empty jam jar or something, just burp it a few times it’ll be fine!

Hiya, cheers i was thinking its not so bad too for a spindley plant too lol. Im in East midlands but ill leave the grow tent as its not so much the people outside, its visitors- family etc who may visit and find out- a bigger plant will give off more smell, they are not all anti some smoke themselves but you know what its like people talk and some not as forthcoming as others. But thank you very much for the offer most appreciated.

Heres a long story short- Sadly my Dad died in January just gone, only 56, seriously late diagnosis of cancer :( :( He was a big pot smoker and ive kept a lot of his stuff in my spare room where my planty is, clothes, ash trays books etc obviously with a pot smell about them lol. So when my boyfriend is over he says it reeks of cannabis still all these months later which it does a bit but that means he thinks its just all the stuff and doesnt know about the plant. He wont go in that room but if he does planty is in the corner hidden by a clothes rail with large towell draped over, i also have it labelled as an Aubergine, so i can play dumb if found out LOL.

Hes not completely anti cannabis but would never go near it himself as hes in the military so strict rules apply. i respect this and dont do anything that would 'Contaminate' him but for now hes better off not knowing, for his sake more than mine lol else he will tell me i might get in trouble for growing. In the future when hes out his opinion may change of course.

Tuckatan- What does burp it up a few times mean?

Ahh you’re not the other end of the country either, I’m in a town not too far from Milton Keynes... don’t want to be too specific!

Sorry to hear about your father, not an easy thing to go through.

Ahh I see it’s a bit of a stealth grow! Hopefully you manage to keep it hidden! People certainly do talk, don’t need that info going around for the unsavoury characters!

Burping is just exchanging the air in the jar, just opening it really and giving it a little shake!

Dry your bud, seal it in a glass jar no more than 2/3 full, then open it to exchange the air. If your bud is too moist when you open the jar (it will draw moisture from the stem when jarred), leave it out for half hour to dry some and then put it back in the jar, repeat these steps until its at your desired moisture level, then no more burping, just keep it in the jar sealed and smoke/eat it whenever you like! :weed:

Ok, thanks. Yeah ive done the same- dont want to be too specific- You never know if authorities are spying in forums., although maybe im a bit paranoid i dont know, especially yesterday when a cop car pulled up outside but they went to another house thank god. Also theres been one parked up outside opposite house but my nosy neighbours say the man who lives there is an ex copper so we think he has an off duty visitor staying for a few days or something.

Aparantely people say its getting better here in Uk for cannabis and that laws will be changed but i dont know when thats ever gonna be and if we have to buy from shops or if it will be legal to grow reasonable amounts.

My Dad lived in a flat that was down a little secluded driveway and used to grow plants in his walk in wardrobe- they were giants compared to mine and now i wish i took notes when he was alive i could have wrote a whole A4 page lol he used to grow stronger stuff though than what i need.
