I don’t believe for a minute that they had $248M in revenue! Who’s buying all this schwag? It’s certainly not Canadians. Don’t forget, CanOPee posted the same kinda revenue, so that’s $500M in revenue between just 2 of literally dozens of publicly traded LP’s. Again, who’s buying all this tonnage? Oh right....no one! These are made up numbers on paper. The LP’s don’t have to follow traditional accounting practices (GAAP)...so they just make it up as they go along.

Just wait until edibles, extracts...etc come online. The LP’s think this will be their saving grace, but in reality it will be the “end of times” for most LP’s. The Legacy Market has a firm grip on the market with far superior, and likely much cheaper products.

The more telling information is this:

It sold 36,628 kg of the 57,442 kg cannabis produced for the year.
That's a much worse problem than production issues or other things that can be fixed.
Having more product than you can sell in a newly created market is real bad.

I was balls deep in an LP when you could start one for $100,000.
Now these companies burn through millions of dollars just to stay open and meet the regulations.
Good riddance. The LP I was part of is still open, fully licensed and burning cash faster than Pablo.
They decided not to grow, so instead they buy someone else's product, grind it and roll it and sell it as their own.

Sad part is that we actually had a good place once upon a time.
We had a good, highly skilled grower from the medical side of the industry.
He had good product, we had a good plan and we had a great facility. It all fell apart because:
  • They forced us to have 24/7 QA people, where the original restrictions only required a QA person there for packaging and weighing
  • They said our master grower couldn't be our Responsible Person in Charge
  • They changed the security requirements so that the cost of our safe went from $20,000 to $120,000
  • They changed the security requirements so the facility itself had to be upgraded, the walls reinforced and cameras placed to cover every inch of the facility
  • They removed our ability to import product from the MMAR, which is where all our medical strains were coming from
  • They started forcing LPs to grow an entire harvest before even commiting that they would guarantee a final inspection
  • They started disallowing fertilizers and treatments that are safe in favour of some that are unknown / untested
  • They changed the testing standards so that a "batch" requiring lab testing was much smaller, requiring much more lab time per harvest
By the time we were 18 months in, the cost of the project had ballooned 8x and we were no closer to opening, in fact we were probably 2 years out from an inspection that we were promised months before.

They fucked this program up from the start and very few of these LPs are going to make big profits on the market itself, but those that started them are all rich af now because they went public, sold shares or simply cut themselves $250,000 a year salaries.

I get your perspective, 100% I do.
My reality is that I don't have time to make my own capsules, nor do I have consistent supply of flower, nor do I know how to dose them.
Without my capsules, I can't sleep and my work efficiency goes into the toilet.
I just need consistency, readily available and convenience.

I know more about the MMAR side than the LP side, because that's where all my contacts are.
These days though, I stay out of just about everything. The best product I get today is from the same person I was working with as a master grower for the LP, but he's growing MMAR still.
