Organic Durban Poison Autoflower grown at 55’ North outside. Got hungry towards the end but that was my fault - forgot to feed mid flower while I was away but kept on top of it and she managed to make some decent buds considering.

She is 11 weeks now. Breeder says they’re mature within 10-11 weeks.

Question is are they ready? The calyx’s seem to have swollen the last couple of days, only a few white hairs.

Trics are mostly cloudy some clear and the odd amber.

Sorry for the poor tric pic. Only had a microscope and phone.

I also would wait another week or so. I would'nt typically chop till there are no more clear trics and some amber peppered in.

Id throw it out and start over.....it must be perfect!

Thanks man! Just compost teas n soil. The whole grow was minimal effort while focusing on the relationship between roots and soil - the microbes n shit.

Yeah that’s what bit me in the ass. Wife gave them just water plus they had exhausted the food after the stretch and maturing naturally led to
Rapid yellowing.

Ach well. Will have to the rest of them indoors this winter :)

Any time I've waited until there're no more clear trichs I've had too many amber. And anyone who says there's no THC in clear trichs is wrong. I had to harvest a plant that had a light fall on it at 6 weeks into flower. Didn't taste like weed but I still got high. All trichs were clear.
High was weird though. Came on fast, and wore off fast too.

Yeah I tried a sample bud on my first grow at around 6 weeks and it was a racy high that wore off quickly.

In the drying room now. Gonna trim the other one tomorrow!

I know man been lucky as. Somehow the clouds broke around our house nearly all summer.

Every time it rained they went in the greenhouse. I work from home so was always by a window madly dashing out as the rains came.

Next year gonna do bigger pots. The 1gal are too small. Maybe 3 next time.

This right here is what pisses me off with “bro science”

If you want an uplifting high then you grow an uplifting high trait strain.

If you want couchlock narcosis then grow a strain that has that trait.

Cutting early with not cause a narcotic strain to turn into an uplifting sativa and vice versa.

The only things I’ve noticed over the last decade is that early harvests = less of desired effect. Eg a narcotic high doesn’t last as long. An uplifting high doesn’t last as long.

Letting a sativa run until 90% of your trichs are amber will not turn it into a narcotic high.

That’s just not how it works.

Congrats on the grow.

Next time try and keep your leaves as green as possible the whole way through.

I thought thc degrading into cbn in trichomes turning them amber was science, not "bro science".
I admit, I haven't researched it, and have no handy citations for you. If you could steer me towards any research on the subject I would appreciate it.
All I can give you is my personal experience, which is when there are lots of amber trichomes I don't get as high, and I get really sleepy. Strain notwithstanding.

I didn’t mean the degrading of the THC.

I meant that an uplifting sativa strain will not somehow magically change into a narcotic couchlock indica.

So when someone grows an INDICA dominant strain and says they chopped early for an uplifting energetic high it’s just not the case.

There’s information on leafy about CBN being sedative when enough THC is present

From what I've read the effects of cbn are narcotic and couchlock though, without thc.
I'm open minded, and evidence will change my view. So, since I have an indica growing in my backyard maybe I should harvest a small bud when the trich's are clear and some cloudy and report back. That'll be a couple weeks from now. I will say I've had weed that had too many amber trichomes and I really didn't like how it felt. Sativa or indica, I don't like the feel of cbn. I only learned it was cbn I didn't like recently. When I was smoking in high school I didn't even know anything about thc, I just knew not to buy anything from one guy, because his weed just made me sleepy and uncomfortable.
