using humidity dome Rockwool cubes dunk in a light nute solution for 15 mins. Whipped out excess water place in cloning solution after setting in water while doing the rest of the work getting the solution ready all prep was done while a step before was being done. Put in tent 83 degrees F 80-99 humidity , spray constantly every day couldn’t say how often just when I see it dry up should I spray less I thought it was set it forget it a week later u should see roots here’s what I got after a week did I pull too early Noob like to know what’s going on at all steps feel so out of it’s process anybody know what I’m doing wrong or should be doing so many methods people work don’t work I’m really confused

Using king led 1000w light veg only should I have veg+bloom on for cloning super confused at this please help feel like the money for the grow becomes a waste if I can’t clone seeds get expensive shipping costs etc preserving the genetics is what I’m wanting to do I got colloidal silver to get feminized pollen and take clones before I start spray so I should be able to keep a genetic line available not have to go back to the store just need help with my cloning methods maybe any other tricks with my tent it’s mainly a veg/clone room but I can do a flower on one side put up the sheet, rather take the mother’s outdoors to get their pollen and landrace

Ok so I was super anxious and need to be more patient what about squirting should I be misting that often I thought it was more set it forget it , does buying perlite solve my misting problem or I thought it wasn’t necessary reason for the humidity dome to keep the water condensation there but maybe dries up too quick like every two hours I’m misting

Hi there, It looks like the cuts you took may not have been most ideal for cloning, the cuttings you have in your hand are a bit larger sized than I would have attempted to clone, I would try and take the cuttings a bit earlier next time around.

One thing I've found to help is to cut off most of the larger leaves on a clone 8-10hrs before I plan on actually cutting the clone from off of the plant, then I wait til the plant falls asleep that night, I wait about one hour after lights out before I go in and cut the plant, I take the cutting and place it it a cup of dirt until the water drips out the bottom immediately after cutting off the plant, I have everything prepared before hand so that I don't have to panic getting everything done quickly, and delicately at the same time.

I scuff one side of the stalk gently just taking a few light fibers from the bottom inch to half inch of the cutting before placing in the dirt also. This helps trigger the plant to put out new roots from the exposed area.

Once I've got the cutting in the dirt, I place it back in a dark room with my other seedlings and let it have at least 5 hrs of dark before the light come on, as this lowers the amount of shock on the cutting, then place the cutting in a area where it gets low intensity gentle light.

After about 3 days I rehydrate the cutting, I wait til at least a few drops come out from the bottom of the container and place it back under the light.

I'm still learning to clone myself actually, I just wanted to add what has worked for me so far, I'm about to do this same this today actually.

About half of the method I mentioned here I have learned from others on this site, I wanted to give credit back to those who've helped me keep my cuttings alive, special thanks to all those who have contributed, thanks all.

Anyhow I hope this helps, take care.

Yours look damped off probably from being too wet

Mr. Soul gives a good cloning tutorial here. https://www.instagram.com/p/B0bMiGDAcsz/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

My EzCloner is big like his in the video but for cubes, I still follow his steps. For my tapered cubes, I flip them upside down and usually make a new hole and do not use the existing one, if present. I strip, cut, and dip using Clonex in a shot glass. The clone gets placed on the cube and once the cubes are wet and the initial misting occurs I only mist them if they look droopy. I normally only mist the inside of the dome.

On larger woody stems scuff all way around before dipping in honey or cloning gel. Also I have more success dipping them into Mykos and then straight into dirt after gel or honey dip. The removal of the outer layer of stem is important.

Yes @hotrodharley you're one of the people who helped me with the scuffing the bottom fibers idea, I appreciate that information it's helped to keep my current clone mother in rotation this year looks like, with a few more being taken tonight, I'm excited to see what happens.

Also thank you for the info on scuffing around the entire bottom of the woodier cuttings, I've got one larger branch that I figured I had let get to large because I snapped the stem and had to tie up this particular branch to keep it alive about a month ago, I may attempt to go ahead and try to clone this branch also, but I've got 4 coming off tonight looks like so I think I'll wait a few days to take the other, but I do appreciate the suggestion.

Thank You Hotrod.

Welcome. Check out willow water for rooting cuttings. I just got on to this last night with @Lucky Luke. It sounds reasonable.

Also a lot of the professional growers here not only scuff but they split the stem about a half inch. Creates 2 legs. That’s on the list of things to try. Just heard that last weekend. The guy is head grower for a huge legal op here. Lots of experience so I’m going to try it. He says they root faster.

I've had the hardest time with my clones as well. Think I got it whipped tho! Ill share my info even if not needed.

So I made a bubble cloner.... Yay! Worked great once. Then the second time time took longer, third even longer....ECT. So I was cleaning it with bleach, h02, soap, whatever I thought it needed. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Must be free of germs and vi

So I started using chlorine. I used the tabs and dissolved them but any kind would work. I made the chlorine so strong it burnt my nose....yikes! But Hey , I'm back to having good roots in 2 weeks.

Now, as far as the method used....

I've heard the scrape method, done the cut up the bottom.

I've heard of people using weak nutes in the areo or bubbler water, like wtf? There is no roots yet!

In your pic I see the swelling of the stalks.... Mine did that ALOT. Then made few roots. I thought it might be a mold or a pathogen that got up the stem from the cut. Never figured that one out. But mine did swell before I started using the chlorine to clean my clone machine.

So no condensation in my dome right now and the cubes are moist wait till when to spray I’ve heard people spray the cubes spray the leaves and spray the domes what is really going on how to notice success is happening so I don’t have this anxiety is it working having no success is it because I rip them out of the ground was thinking it was the light schedule but I’m not even having success a little bit I’ve done three cloning attempts with the about the same way everybody does the step by step process my only dilemmas are becoming maybe anxiety or too much misting and causing the rooting solution to be washed away that’s my logical approach or evaluation I don’t want to just here ur methods I want to hear the basic foundation and notice what’s going on in my plant I see so many different methods and aeroponic, hydroponic w dome tried cutting tried in a water cup I haven’t tried soil cuz success should’ve been better with Rockwool or aeroponics im not sure why I can clone other plants no issue cannabis is legit my most difficult plant I’ve been working with time sensitivity and not having access to readily available resources makes it hard to reattempt multiple clonings, time of cutting also I have notice many variations should have much factorization on success rates ugh this confusion and I want to just be paid to be taught and practice ur methods regardless each farm/industrial complex has their research methodology I just wish I had more investors then to be the sole investor in this project to be let down multiple times or getting outdoor buds that just look horrible in quality it’s upsetting yet it’s farming at is finest, please more experienced farmers have to notice something out of the ordinary is give air flow causing them to die they don’t droop over until 7 days and look like swollen feet I can keep them longer with my sprays if I spray less they die faster something has to be wrong if do I need the heating pad only to cause the perspiration rate to rise and now less condensation if no water in the done should’ve evaporated so I’m confused how u keep it at ur temperatures spraying one time and the clone not feeling stressed out

You’re unsure of the swelling is a pathogen or the clone getting ready to root ?? If it’s getting ready to root and that means signs of success then I’m in the right direction and my anxiety caused me to kill some of my clones interrupt their process

My aeroponic method they would sit in water and swell up I would notice roots but it would end up getting slimy for other plants the work tomatoes fine ...
