I tilled the ground, beneath each bed to break it up. Very poor soil back there....less than a foot of black dirt then clay. In the summer it sun bakes and cracks. High water table, too. Hit water about 20" down.

Found some local supersoil at a local sustainable farm- $25 a cubic yard. PH- 8.4 Made up of composted horse manure, paper, leaves, tree bark, worm castings and local resturaunt produce waste. Mixed in Canadian peat moss. Used almost the entire batch.

Along with the Monster Candyland mother plant, I sent out a batch of granddaddy purple and GG4- all from seeds.

My GG4 had a single hermie nanner sprout from a stressed clone and got some seeds. Figured I would try them out.

GDP had a male in the bunch during an outdoor grow from a freinds grow a few years ago. Buds the size of your arm....gonna give those a shot too.

Gonna have to learn how to sex them.

How far are those boxes from each other?

Outside plants eat more and grow more, they are going to be big if you feed them right. I'd be happy to have a high water table, self irrigated.

At least you have black dirt. Out here it's all clay worthy of being called concrete, no top soil.

I am curious to see the outcome of the GDP seeds they produced. Hope to get some good phenotypes. I will be taking clones of the best female before flower to keep it going. If I get a bunch of bad genetics- I will pop more seeds till I find the good one. I have plenty of seeds.

Each box is approx 5-6' from each other. Kind of a tight squeeze for 12 plants in a 12'x24' cage. I figured it plenty of room till I started laying out boxes. The big boxes are 36x36" and the smaller are 24x24". thought I had more wood than I ended up with too...

I hear ya on the clay and high water table. last grow back here produced great quality 2' tall plants. Root locked and wet feet kept them tiny- but it was mind blowing smoke. I grew them strait into the native soil.

I am figuring the extra foot or so of quality dirt on top should be perfect to get good size this time around.

She is definitely struggling...Ive only grown indoor dirt and outdoor. Shes been in coco coir- and I havnt had the knowledge or the nutrients to keep her happy. The tent she was in (environment) was sub par also. Not enough air flow/current and lighting wasn't near enough for this tall and wide of a plant.

Once settled into the soil and acclimated I plan on pruning the bottom branches. They have grown so long that the plant is having a hard time holding them up.

I am thinking, once settled into her new home she will turn around good for me. Fingers crossed.

She will be good to go. Get her out in the ground as soon as you can. Top dressing isnt a bad idea either.

Looks good. I've had mothers that do great and others get passed by but generally they'll be bigger producers. Key is root space obviously and its ability to penetrate native soil. Hopefully not high % of clay. I grew an old BlackBerry Kush mom of similar size it ended up tall prob 15' but was not symmetrical at all. Still got few units wish I'd been able spend more time training her. Might have an old pic.... best of luck should be a biggin

Thx. I am looking forward to finding out what this strains got. I've had no experience with it other than having it in my possession the past few weeks.

Only grew it indoors under a led my candyland came from kingklonebrand.com was kind of slow to veg but quality was very good I lost my cut but still have blackjack from the same breeder I'm gonna try to get another cut of candy and from that breeder it was that good

Things are looking pretty good. Topping the little ones and trimmed up the bottom of the monster candyland. Still training also.

GDP are around 3ft now, with thick healthy stalks/stems.
GG4 are staying small so far, as the pheno I have usually does at first.
