I had a Clone of Crockett's Tangie, but the dude I got it from called me two weeks later and said to kill it, the plant it came from was male and bred his females. That little clone smelt like fresh squeezed orange juice, I'd like to grow some females one day, it's on my bucket list
I just cried a little. You killed a cut from a breeding male?

Anyone know if tangie is an ibl or an f1? I understand it’s skunk x Cali o but I’m wondering how stable my male would be as a chucking candidate?
I can tell you from my limited experience it appears to be something like an F1 - F2. It could be a poly hybrid too I can't say, but what I CAN SAY is there is quite a bit of variation in just a few samples. One girl is just about all skunk - smell is similar to Mr. Nice "Shit" but louder and orangey, another is all orange, structurally they differ as well. Having seen some of their sour tangie now Id say the same thing - its probably an F1.

Sour tangie #2 and #3 came down because i need to make room and these two didn't make the cut anyhow.

#3 is very small as it was light/space starved - structurally looks like Sour Diesel, the nose is much more tangie with just a hint of the diesel however.

#2 is literally all Sour Diesel, no orange in the smell to note, all diesel structure as well

Then of course there is my winner, shes still going, gonna let her fatten up over the week and then take her down, having tried some samples now I can say she is the one I've been looking for. Perfect mix of fuel and oranges, flavor is outstanding for having just hardly dried, potency is on point, uplifting and clear enough.

I grew out some tangies. Most of the phenos were tall and leggy, smelled great like oranges. One was much shorter with tighter internodes but smelled like super sugary orange candy, and cured great like that. I still have that mom. It’s a bitch to clone though for some reason, way harder than usual. Don’t kill your runts...you never know what it might turn out to be.

Followup Time.

Tangie is amazing. I strongly believe that cannabis should have a powerful taste when smoked. Too many strains recently have really disappointed me in the taste department. Both expressions of tangie possess an incredible, almost overwhelming flavor. The smoke still tastes good 3 to 4 hits into the bowl, the flavor is zesty, citrus, and unmistakably orange. The high is maybe a little too speedy for me. I am not the type to suffer from anxiety but for whatever reason this strain makes me anxious and paranoid - Highly unusual for me personally. No one else seems to be effected this way by it. Between the two expressions, #1 is a bit more orange skunky, while #2 is much more orange citrus. Since drying, we hardly reach for anything else.

Next up in my Crockett search is Sour Strawberries and Lemon Banana Sherbet.
Going to snap some pics and update here shortly.

Anyone run the Strawberry Bannana or Sugar Sap? I’ve got a Tangie started here that has a nice uniform look... flowering soon after a couple cuts.

respect,
pal

A buddy just sexed out a pack of strawberry fields and we got 3 females and 3 male candidates. We plan to f2 and chuck onto a few female keepers of other strains. Tangie is a solid strain. Good luck with her.

Here we have sour strawberries, she's was pollinated with her brother as soon as I smelled what she was cooking. The smell reminds me of a strain called Raw Diesel that I really enjoyed many years ago, tangy, funky fruit fuel. Structure and appearance isn't the best or the worst I've seen, but she jumped right into flower quickly, that I like, It keeps things short and fast.

Then there is lemon banana sherbet. Another strain that was quick to begin flower albeit not as fast as sour strawberries. Smell is nice, smooth and creamy banana but also a bit sour lemon in the background, truly unique and hard to describe. A bit bigger than the sour strawberries.
