i sincerely hate the video age...i LIKED reading the news...it just annoys the everliving shit out of me that there's constantly a video player on every web page i go to anymore....none of these fuckers has enough to say to justify filming them saying it...make a short memo about it and i'll get to it when i want to...isn't that what the fucking news is supposed to be? not a place for droning talking heads to admire themselves in electronic mirrors....?

Local news isn't even that anymore either.
My local newspaper is part of a conglomerate that has a tiny staff with hardly any presence here. Some local issues are attributed to AP. Also conservative editorial staff. Pretty sad state of affairs when the best broad scope newspaper I can find (Finanical Times) comes in the mail a day or so late and is headquartered in London. New York Times is OK but I don't really care about the New York local news.

Talking about dead minds, youtube videos can be deadly when they are used to influence rather than inform. Two examples from the left are Jimmy Dore and Kyle Kulinski typically show 1-2 minutes clip from a speech and then spend 10 minutes as a thought guide, telling their audience what to think. They clearly pattern themselves from Limbaugh, the master of thought guides.

Not just him, every Cult of Sanders who post here love Jimmy Dore. I don't know that he's taking money from the right to spew their propaganda and sow division but if he's not, he's wasting an opportunity because he could without changing his show one bit.

I was in DC when the Starr report was released. you know, the one with all the details of Bill Clinton's "crimes". The Republicans saw to it that pallets of the things were delivered to every Federal building. They were everywhere. People could just grab a dozen if they wanted. All around the city people were reading the damn things on the street.
It is typical that now that the shoe is in the other foot, the Republicans want it suppressed. Republicans are dishonest.
