Yeah, I've had them round things but to me it's strain dependant. I did a HSO, (fem) Em-dog. Couldn't even roll a decent joint. It was like trying to roll up a bunch of small ball bearings. I like the red hair strains that seem to give me the best texture (without little balls) to roll with. I've grown some strains that have a small amount of ovules but not enough or large enough to bother me much. I grow in hot soil only adding organic dry nutes as needed (couple times during flowering), probably under feeding somewhat.

Hey brother, i dont think its as simple as them being premature seeds. . They are totally dark. I have had premie seeds before and they are nothing like this issue. But i agree , i suspect rogue mutant pollen. Its as if the the seed in the calyx begins to develop, but stops at the micropyle pictured below.
Edit: i meant to say stops developing at style , not micropyle.

All seeds and all strains have it it’s the reproductive organ or what ever it’s call lol anyway not sure why his don’t shrink up like everyone else’s does???

do you grow fems or regular?

I use both fem and regs. Regs when I can but some strains I like aren't' available in regs. I'm not big on the new strains since I'm good with my Delahaze (Paradise Seeds), Mimosa "cut" (Symbiotic), and a few local strains.

you happen to notice it more on fems.? You say you’re possibly underfeeding a bit and you got them in the HSO plant. That eases my mind when it comes to me because a guy floated the theory that too much nitrogen could cause it. I do use veg nutes a little longer than most people in flower but I never get the look of too much N.

I feel that because a fem seed came to existance without a Y chromosome involved in pollination, the plant knows thins and makes immediate adjustments by instilling genetic predisposition for larger ovules in its offspring.

Regs don't have a Y chromosome involved in pollination, either.

You could be right. I thought male pollen had an x and y but perhaps that doesn’t make sense. Maybe it’s just that male pollen can either be x or y. Anyhow, I suspect that fems have somethjng to do with this. Something about the process of selfing makes seeds with predisposition for larger ovules.

Lol..again displaying your inability to comprehend things. I questioned the lights regarding something totally separate which actually turned out to be ok. Of course you wouldn’t know that cause you don’t read. I questioned the nitrogen as a factor in addition to the seed being fem. I also questioned the quality of my water as a a factor that may be bringing out the big ovule fem seed trait. Questioned many things. When nobody (barely) anyone else is getting the same issue with fems, one would have to think there is another factor at play. It’s called logic. I pluck a single calyx/bracht off a bud at a node maybe every week or two off a plant. It’s very easy. I don’t rip into anything and it has nothing to do with the cause of anything.
