This will be my 6th indoor grow ever. First time using soil. Fox farm ocean forest mixed with vermiculite and coco coir chunks. I have the entire line of Advanced Nutrient 2 part, (a & b), nutrient line, ( big bud, b-52, voo doo juice, etc, etc). Everyone keeps telling me to ditch the synthetics and go organic, but I dont want to affect my yields and definitely not my quality. Can I still at this point switch to organic feeding system, and can anyone suggest a brand that will not disappoint with yields and quality? And is there really any point to make this transition. Any opinions and tips will be greatly appreciated. I really like this forum because of how helpful everyone is. Thanks and keep growing


By th way, I topped them small, tied down the tops, and then fimmed the tops after they took to the "lst". Are they looking good?

It is hard to find a good quality organic soil like those you can make yourself. There are plenty of threads here on "supersoil" and variations. The plus to these is they take most of the thinking out of growing. Supplement with myco fungi innoculations and AACT and you're done, perfect growth! Of course you need to work up to the full strength and not use it for germination. The downside to this is that you need to get your soil going about 3 months before you plan to use it and it can take a while to source all the ingredients and it can be expensive because you may have to purchase much more of a supplement then what you need for your mix. You also need to make it in fairly large quantity so that it has the mass needed to compost the hotter ingredients and make them friendly for your plants.

Once I went organic there was no going back, but it is a personal decision and you can get to great bud either way. I suggest you purchase a copy of Teaming with Microbes by Jeff Lowenfels. This book started it all for me and made me a believer in a higher power. The perfection, synergies, and renewal going on in the soil food web in soil is truly a marvel to understand.

I agree with Bugeye here...Organics take a bit more of a commitment in terms of the amendments needed, the mixing of your soil, the cooking, etc. Like he / she said, you can get to good flowers using either method (organics / synthetics). If it were me and I had success growing several runs prior with synthetics, I'd run mostly synthetic and 'experiment' with one or two plants in organics. I used to run organics and moved to synthetics / salts, which was not a lateral move per se. You may find the same thing going in the opposite direction, so instead of hinging your entire grow on a new system, have a little fun until you get it dialed in. By doing so you'll learn a little and you'll also be in a better position to determine what you like best in the end. Good luck.

Theres one style of organic where you just put all thenutrients the plant needs into soil in a plant usable form.

You can make your own soil from scratch and rely on feeding the microbes in the soil, so they eat and then break down stuff into a plant usable form. Then they die and release It.

All while a big network of roots and mushroom mycelium and cover crops all tangle up and become a super network and become more eficient at retaining and transporting water and food,.

They become a host to an extremly active microbes working for you to take up space in your medium and on your plant so the bad ones cant get in .

Also through this symbiotic relationship they strengrhen your plants immune system and plus , there is so much shit going on in the soil food web that people still have no idea about its crazy.

Read the book teaming with microbes by jeff lowenfells. You will shake your fucking head at salt based bottled nutrients buddy

Yield depends alot on strain too. You should take into consideration sometimes it's not the nutes
