Defoliating in flower?

I switched my plants to 12/12 lighting 5 days ago, and they have stretched and filled in quite a bit in the last few days. Many fan leaves are touching, causing transpiration to get trapped and form wet spots on leaves. Many lower bud sites are shaded by higher fan leaves. Should I remove some of the fan leaves to get more light to lower bud sites? I wish I did this before switching to 12/12, but I didn't. What should I do, and would light defoliation 5 days into 12/12 cause me issues?

Just do some selective plucking, pulling the fans that are blocking other sites. Alot of bigger growers do full leaf strips in week 1 and week 3 of flower.

Been doing just that, until i got a sativa pheno that hates losing leaves and ends up nitrogen toxic pretty quick.


Your probably fine just beware some plants dont like it

Prune evenly and strategically all over the plant to get better airflow and stop dew on leaves.
