Best 2-4 ton mini split or HVac on the market?

I am looking into a new ac unit and was hoping to get some advice from some folk that have recently done all their homework already. Sorta look over your shoulder and save myself some legwork.

What is the most efficient and/or quietest mini split or HVAC on the market in the 2-4 ton range? What did you get in the end? Mine is getting a little old and stinky.
Hoping to stay on top of roughly 33000 BTU's

Can't beat a Daikin. After that Samsung, Fujitsu, LG and Mitsubishi are all about equivalent with Mitsubishi edging out the rest.

I work for a Mechanical Contractor that does over $90M a year in work.

Expect to pay a lot for a Daikin or a Mitsubishi. Fujitsu would probably be best of cost per performance. I get contractor home use discounts but 3 ton condenser and evaporator would be $3-5k depending on features like phenolic coating on the condenser if you live near the ocean or wind baffles or low ambient kits.

So what will effect price is how many indoor heads you want. I'd go with 3-4 for that size

MXZ4C36NA-3WS-36 is a three zone 36k btu 20 SEER Mitsubishi for $5k.

MXZ4C36NA-4WS-24 The four zone is $5,300.

Daikin similar is slightly cheaper

LG similar is $3,500

Use any brand from above and you should be good. Look for SEER ratings 18+

Thank you for stepping up and giving me the guidance, I will look into these but especially the Carrier, as my problem right now ironically is that I can't get enough heat into the room. With all the gear running plus a space heater, I can only get to 82 degrees by the end of the day. I need to add heat during the daytime and especially at the night time and as we all now space heaters are incredibly efficient. I do like the idea of gradually adding and subtracting really efficient heat.

Get the heat pump then. Which is what the carrier is. But there are a number of other heat pump manufacturers. If you have the money CRAC units are where it's at. It is a computer room air conditioner, but they do humidity control and CO2 conservation options since most major manufacturers have grow room specific options now.

I bought 2 different 24,000BTU units. The first one was a Gree, and I would stay FAR away from them. Chinese POS. I have to keep charging it 2x a summer. I bought a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim for my house and never had to touch it since! I installed both of them also, which voided the warranty. My state is recently legal, so I didn't want anyone close to my grow room at the time... Buying the Gree was one of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made!!!

Most mini-splits are not very good at heating, just FYI... I'm not familiar with Carrier's products or saying that they are bad. It's just that Mitsubishi will tell you that it will not heat when it is colder than a certain temp outside, I think around 30F?.

Mitsubishi hyper heat vrf systems operating down to -14F at 85% efficiency. 100% at 0F.

VRF is good for when you need some heads to heat and some to cool on the same condenser.

Mulling over CRAC systems and normal home systems I think I am leaning toward top efficiency home models that are simpler for the homeowner to install, I do have a vacuum pump and a manifold but simple is better. Plus I can add another unit when the need arises in the spring. So I guess I will eventually be buying 3 or 4 of those 9000 units. However, I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Read carefully the specifics of the units. Line set length can be limiting and longer than spec line sets and decreasing efficiency and void warranties. I’m an HVAC contractor

what exactly is your room like
edit: to know the best hvac application, it helps to know whats going on. there are singles and multi, even tri zone condensors. for your application it first helps to know the situation
we know now you want something capable of a heat pump

do we want zones, off of one condensor or two

something to get an idea of once you know what the room is like and whats going on outside the room

What size is your unit now? Is it a mini or full size ducted system. Sealed room? What are you outside temps high/lows. What is your building constructed of. Insulation? Your needs can be much different than someone else’s with the same footprint. Careful what you listen to. If your in a legal state hire a contractor to do a heat/cool load calculation. There are several online I’m sure. I have software that I use that dives deep into the building design and position of the sun. Most time it isn’t needed but can come in handy. Anyway..... if you get to big a system it won’t remove ANY humidity..... A N Y....
