Will consuming recreational cannabis be legal on October 17?

The way I see it, most provinces won't be opening cannabis stores until the new year. Recreational cannabis will be purchased online, but consumers won't be able to purchase until that day. So on the day of October 17, will you be charged for consuming non medical cannabis?

People will always continue to be charged for using cannabis....especially in public.
The fine will be on par with a drunk n disorder charge because the financial system of the police state will always need someone else to grease the wheel.
You can buy it and possess it but u better not ever dare use it.

In Windsor they just drive you out to the LaSalle or Essex, lay a beating on you and make you walk home.

There are people who currently legally grow, if those people were to gift cannabis that cannabis should be legal. Most people will have no legal access however.

No. While technically you could be charged with having 'ilicit' pot, the chances of any cop trying that, particularly on 'opening day' is slim to none, imo. Nobody cares now...
The illicit pot thing is there to force dispensaries to sell LP products only.....they don't care what's in Jane's baggie or where it came from. my 2 cents.

It's just going to be a switch in behaviours. We don't walk down the street drinking a beer, or have a cigarette in a non-smoking area without risk - I don't see how anyone can expect rules around weed to be different.

And butter that turns your bud into a cookie! lol How about a vape - a cop ain't gonna know vape from e cigarette from a distance. This will relax after awhile, but there are plenty of ways to beat the system until then.

It's a level playing field coast to coast to coast on Oct.17. For the most part it's easy to respect no booze or no smoking rules for most public places - cannabis will be the same. It may be more restrictive at first, but that will relax over time. Women didn't used to be allowed in bars - now you can bring your kids.
