OMG HELMS!!! They had the BEST eclairs in the world, nothing has ever equaled a Helms eclair. Remember the truck and they would pull out these wooden shelves with baked special wonders on them. I eschewed the ice cream truck for Helms.Companies basically ceased door to door and home delivery in the early 60's. We used get milk delivered every other day, bread and stuff from Helms Bakery. That stopped and you'd get their products at the grocery store. This was in suburbia, LA county
His dad really did build the infrastructure I had the privilege to direct traffic upon, once upon a time. He's a living legend.
