Ti amo, mijo
You say that now, but it's just lust; you'll dump me when I'm old and grey
Did you ever get a new helper? You gotta be exhausted. How are you holding up?Happy belated Malt! Sorry I missed it. I worked 7-8 in numerous bouts of rain yesterday and crashed hard when I got home. Hope it was a good one.
Hey girl. There is a new college kid starting tomorrow with me apparently. He's just a dude who drove past and saw the "now hiring" sign in the window. I don't have high hopes for any human to keep up with me the week before Memorial Day but we'll see how he works out. I am pretty fucking exhausted though. Borderline delirious by the end of the day. We do our openings in 2 trips. 1st day is taking the cover off and putting the filter system back together and running and balancing the chemicals. Then 2nd trip 3 days later is actually cleaning the pool and readjusting the chemicals, installing the ladder and rails etc. It's really just carrying everything to and from the van by myself that wears me out. The 2nd trip is worse because at a minimum its; a hayward super pump, 2 vac hoses, extension cord, 2 poles, bucket of test kits and my tool belt. That's 2 trips to the pool from the van. Then 2 trips carrying it all back. Then not to mention the buckets of chemicals they might need, parts. Finding and carrying and installing the ladders and rails etc. Delirious.Did you ever get a new helper? You gotta be exhausted. How are you holding up?

That probably would work just fine for a couple of the pools but around here the terrain is so fucked and usually hills and steps are involved.
Have you thought about using a Rock n' Roller, or some other high quality cart to port your equipment to and from the van? I use one for busking, and all my DJ friends can load in all their shit for big gigs in one (sometimes two) trips. Goes over uneven terrain like a champ...

I see. It has a step-lift rails for stairs and is easy for two people. You may be able to just port your gear as close as you can to the pool, then carry it from where the terrain is truly inaccessible for the cart. Just a thought, I worry about you...That probably would work just fine for a couple of the pools but around here the terrain is so fucked and usually hills and steps are involved.
