I am not sure how much terpenes affect the high. It could be stuff in there that is not known yet. There are chemicals in there that affect how the thc is used, that is for sure. More important than just thc percentage.

you mean when you've been watching TV for 10 mins and you realize you are still holding your bong and lighter. lol, i haven't been that high in a long time :eyesmoke:
I have plenty of strains that can put you there.
Message me if you wanna try some.

Potency I was talking about is beyond that.
I am talking about scary strong! Like you don't even want to smoke it!
More like, even though you grew it, you are asking yourself, "Is this shit laced with some type of psychedelic!!???!!"

The physiological processes that happen within the body are so complex that its a bit simplistic to infer that THC alone is responsible for what many consider "potency" or "peak potency".

And yes, certain foods, grapefruits or juice will affect how the body processes certain medications/compounds.

Anyone that has a serious interest in this should complete some course work on human physiology. A basic A&P class can give you a good foundation for comprehending the physiological processes that happen within the ECS.

Not trying to sound preachy or pretentious. I just know how much my previous career has helped cut my learning curve when researching this topic and feel it could really help those that are perusing cultivation for the medicinal benefits.

I understand what you are saying.
I was a biology major.
I don't think you are sounding pretentious.
You are just using your knowledge and applying it cannabis.
The cannabinoid system is very complex. And affects many systems in the body. Sure other influences can affect the way cannabis' compounds are processed. Also external factors can affect the high as well. Poor air quality, temperatures, your psychological situation.....
THC was not inferred as the only compound that was in question. Actually, it is almost the opposite.
My original post was just the way claims of 30+% THC was supposed to be impossible just a few years ago. BC Seeds was claiming those percentages a while back, and got laughed at by everyone.
That breeder was claim they had spent over $250,000 on R n D. Working with different alleles and mutations. To increase THC over generations.

Thanks for sharing you expect information with us. Very much appreciated!!

Oh I'm definitely not an expert. Not even close. I just find the whole high THC % used as more of a marketing tool than anything. Occasionally I browse the dispensaries and I repeatedly see customer buying based on high percentage alone. I always felt like they were really missing out...especially the ones with obvious chronic illnesses.
I wish they'd publish more in depth articles on cannabinoids and terpenes but I suppose we've just begun to scratch the surface and still have quite a ways to go as this industry evolves.
