The "deal" is that they are not made by HLG, they are Chinese copies. They in fact, may or may not have LM561C S6 bin diodes. You take the risk of potentially not getting what you are being sold.

If you want a more affordable alternative to the HLG boards, stay away from Ebay and Alibaba, and just get genuine Samsung F-series strips.

That sellers flipped a ton of boards regardless. 61 sold and 9 available. Apparently there's money in reflipping these Alibaba boards. The name kinda implies there infringing on hlg's name though.

At Atreum Lighting, we are focused on delivering high-quality products and an amazing customer experience. We design our LED boards* and work hard to source the best components available. We have quality checks throughout the manufacturing process; in fact, every light passes a power-on quality check before it leaves the factory**.

*"design" = copy other people's design

**your diodes of unknown quality are guaranteed to turn on

Well at least Roget made a better display sticker without the spelling mistakes. I paid 7 bucks a strip direct from Roget and this clown is charging people 20 bucks a strip and its literally in the same packaging roget sends it in.

vs what I got in August.

With strips you generally don't really need a heatsink unless you run them pretty hot. Most of us just use 3/4" or 1" aluminum channel.

Take a look at the 7.984 profile from HeatsinkUSA - $1.44 per inch. A 24" piece long enough for two QB288 boards would be under $35.
I believe they also have machining services as well so you can have it drilled to your specs.

If you have any sort of air movement (aka a fan) blowing on your light fixture, you do not need to purchase heatsinks...plate aluminum will work fine.

You can purchase 1/4" plate for less than $7 a square foot....600mm x 600mm (short of 24x24) would cost you roughly $28.

I would say "will not be" instead of "may or may not have"

i am sorta confused i have already ordered a used hlg 550 on ebay and really it would be nice to get a 2nd light on the cheap that like i put in is obviously made to do exactly what i am looking for and seems to be a great price is that not something thats very really available ? i know i can do other things for a heatsink but i really like that option otherwise it makes sence to make one from a plate of aluminum in my eyes idk i can drill and tap if need be but it seems like that option would actually cost a bit more
