Thats what ive learned now! Cut as much off as possible before dried up! It woulda been easier then, but i didn't realize that then. So i guess i shouldn't worry about a few smaller leaves still in the buds? I was just worried about cutting hairs and damaging crystals!!! Its day four of drying and they don't realy smell like anything dank more like hay or grass!? Why is this? Are they drying to fast? This is my first plant sorry if these are stupid questions.

will come back as you cure the buds. The left over water inside the buds will come out and when this happens your buds will change smell and potency ..

only use the orange peel if you get to dry , other than that let that shit go and get pure smoke !!

curing on average can be from 3 weeks to 3 months... depends on strain, how long you can wait and just expermenting.
after you jar the nugs, burp the jar daily for at least 10-15 minutes for about 2 weeks min. then leave the lid closed for 2 weeks... see what you got.
but you can smoke it as soon as its dry, may not taste or smell that good... but you gotta try it.
