His guys, like many growers' I'm into the LED "hype but ' like many top of the range led grow lights are fucking expensive lol.

Need a versatile grow light that can light up a 3x4 & 4x4 tent if needed.
I'm thinking more in the lines of spending £500/$800 for a light that produces dimmable capability/600/800 average par/full spectrum and draws around 400/600 )watt's from the wall?

Anything in this range will set me or you back £700/£1200 if I was purchase a pre built grow light like kind k750, timber 4x4 cree cxb3590, chilled gen2 400&500w.

No matter wich way I go I'm looking at big numbers for a hobbyist grower£££ lol
I've been reading lots if hack posts and' I think this is the way to go, I've found a cob style grow light that's a great size & shape for multiple links if you want to expand from a single light to multi light setup. With the daisy chain function 1 light in a 2x4 can easily become 3 lights in a 4x8?
This is the LED I'm considering hacking...Screenshot_2017-10-06-12-15-41.png

I contacted the seller for more information about things like drive capability and also current the drivers are run at? The response back was vague but interesting at the same time.
The seller said, our lights are epilied led's x4 cobs run by 2x drivers each cob so' 8 drivers producing 370watt's from the wall with 92.5watt per cob but u would have to hack it to confirm?

I'm thinking' 4x citezen48 or vero29 gen 7? When all said and done I think this could come in a lot cheaper than a pre built light?
4x citizen's48 3500k on ebay are £40
4x vero29 gen7 3500k rapid.led are £100
With holders&lenses and other miscellaneous items like thermal paste each unit could come in around £300/£450?? These are rough estimates but probably not far from what it will cost.

Just a idea? but if any one wants to chime in with some info or ideas that would be great
Happy growing people

The same one is on AliExpress with more details. One thing to look at is the spectrum chart. I don't trust it is from this light even, but if it is, it still isn't right for what you would want. If you look at the details below, it's a common lie you see with these cheep ones... consumes 400W, but magically produces 800W. You cannot create energy from nothing and you cant product more energy than you consume. If you do... you broke physics.

Details from AliExpress:

Rated power: 800w
Led type: 4pcs 64x3w cob chip
Actual power consumption: 400w+-5%
Reflective cup degree: 90° (need to contact first if need 70 or 110)
Casing color: White
Product dimension:581*173*83.5mm
Packing volume weight: 6KG
Ratio:660nm-28PCS 640nm-16PCS 470nm-4PCS 440nm-8PCS 460nm-4PCS 525nm-2PCS 730nm-2PCS

Thanks for the info. I'm not going to use the units cheap cob's? I'm going to rip the chips out and replace with some vero29/citizen48. Basically tried to find pre built units to "HACK for cheap!
The drivers are kicking out almost 100w so after purchasing some top bin cobs I could have a top bin grow light with par values around 800 for half the price of a pre-build factory made expensive one. I'm also aware of LED company's giving wild! Power output numbers lol. sill happens today lol

Me too. Let us know what drivers it ends up being please. It looks like it might be from the same manufacturer that used to make Apollo Horticulture’s Purple Sun cob line.
