Quantum Board Numbers.

i really really wanna get myself 5 boards to test out but cant ever find them. i think even if you decide to pull the trigger you may be in the same boat. gonna mount 5 inside of an old magnum xxxl hood to air cool them. replace the glass with thin aluminum and youre done. throw 600w at 5 panels and i think youre golden. i cant wait to grab a few. good luck if you decide to go that route. i am no longer running HID at all. im all COB at the moment and have 20+ HID setups in storage but at least i found a new use for the hoods :) gonna try and do the same thing with the quantums when i finally get them.

OP why not buy a few boards and test them out, before investing the full $3000. If you are a non-believer after everything you have seen so far then I think you will need to grow with them yourself to really find out.

There is nothing magic or really even different about smd chips... it is just another implementation of LED tech with the added benefit over COB that your light is much more diffused. It is really as simple as that.

you can ask here all you want, but it sure make a lot more sense to go to the source don't you think? These guys sell commercial lights also, so the must have the answers your looking for. 20 boards@ 90 watts a board would be 2090 watts you sure aren't light that space with just 2 DE's........ and double the yield? possibly, but what about reduced heat and electric consumption? I think your looking at this all wrong

I think you may have misunderstood me. I did mention the very reason I want to use 20 and no more is to drop my current consumption. Something these boards will do very well.

And somewhere in there I mention several reasons why I have always placed LED above CMH on my list. Reduced heat and safety were both in there I think. :bigjoint:

I did consider only doing half the room, and in all honesty there is a good chance that will be the way it goes, as demand for these seem to be greater than supply. Once all said and done the biggest challenge will be getting 20 boards :peace:

OK. So I just sat through and watched the live bit on youtube with Robin and Growmau5.

I have got quite a few of the answers I needed just by seeing this and one or two of GrowMau5's vids.

Confidence in the Boards has risen very much. Impressed with what I see.

Fingers crossed Robin has enough when I come to buying them.

Thanks to all that helped. (:

Just wondering if you may have an update to share?

How is penetration with panels vs COBs? The same or lower? I guess they're less intensive because of lower V, A, W?

As I say mate,m I know the numbers. And even if I didn't it wouldn't matter much because umol is all well and good as long as you know how to get it onto your crop.

Its experienced QB users giving a genuine opinion over HPS etc I'm after.

I have seen plenty of LED buds, and they are flavourful, but raw mass has been an issue with what I have seen. But the diary I saw here has given me a bit of confidence in that.
I've been running the qbs in replacement of nanolux de 4x4 fixtures which I pin to the ceiling and get about a 5x5 area out of it and the 4 quantum board run at 600w total is pretty close . Not replacing a de with 600 but it's getting close and I'm getting better frost and similar yields . I have posts on here but I'm traveling and deleted photos to get through customs lol. But if you go through my posts you'll see some pics along the way. I'm fitting to outfit my other 3k hps room with the boards after this harvest. Just waaaay cooler and frontier buds. Not as large but more dense and less rot from the less heat they put out vs the de. I actually took all three de out of that room (15x7) and their sitting on the shelf .

Why would I fill my room with Quantum Boards over CMH or 1000w DE?
same reason you would fill a room with cobs over cmh or hps - efficiency.

cobs and qbs are the same in terms of the efficiency ranges they operate in, selection comes down to how you want to distribute light and manage the heat. plants cant tell the difference

How is penetration with panels vs COBs? The same
as with cobs or any other light, penetration depends on overall light and distance of light source from the canopy. strong lights hung high will always "penetrate" (ie have a higher ppfd deep into the canopy) than weak lights hung close to canopy

So panels should be placed closed to plants. But they will provide much more at the top than the end of plants in comparision wiht COBs... right, right?

Ah cmonn, tell direct answer.
100 W COBs at 40-50cm and 100W panels at 40-50cm from plants. Which one get less popcorn and shit under?

To everyone worried about supply. After this month we should have a really nice supply of qb288s from now on. Our 288 boards will be made in the USA from that point forward and hopefully we will have plenty in stock at all times moving forward from that point.

Do you have any plans to conquer the Euro market? You know we love your stuff.
